Owner description: Set in the gentle hillsides of "Up-Country" Maui, Pukalani Country Club overlooks the Pacific Ocean and offers breath-taking panoranic views of the Valley Isle of Maui. The Pukalani Country Club is nestled at the 1,100 foot elevation level of world famous Mount Haleakala, an extinct volcano whose name in Hawaiian means "House of the Rising Sun" and is appropriately reflected as the golf course's logo. Pukalani's 18 holes were designed by golf course architect Bob Baldock who designed more than 69 public and private golf courses throughout the United States. The Pukalani Country Club's greenery covers nearly 160 acres. Built in 1980, the course is 6,962 yards long from the championship tees, plays to a par 72, and features 19 greens in its 18-hole layout! On hole #3, golfers may choose a tough iron shot across a ravine and into the wind for one green, or a challenging chip shot straight down to a well-trapped green several hundred feet below into the ravine. No other golf course in Hawaii can compare or offer you this unique setting and challenge of our hole #3. "Pukalani" which in Hawaiian means "Entrance to Heaven" certainly describes Pukalani Country Club!

I have been lucky enough to visit Maui a number of times. Without fail, over the last several years I have enjoyed every round at this golf course. Partnered with locals, course employees and tourists alike I have never played with anyone I would not choose to golf with again. Considering the gorgeous and challenging layout , plus the super friendly people this is outstanding value.

We go almost every week. Usually order something that is chef has on special, but all the regular items are great too. Love their kim chee fried rice (have to take home half of it), specials usually have a pasta dish, grilled steak with a yummy sauce, meat loaf wrapped in bacon, a fish special...just goes on and on. Dressings and sauces are all house made. Great salads. You can have wine or beer with dinner - so that's nice. It's in a trailer, but it has great sunset views and the food is just amazing for the price. Many times we'll can't finish and bring the rest home. Love it!

Because of my job, I travel from the east coast to the west coast on the mainland, and to Hawaii as well. I have had the privilege of playing many courses including Pukalani Country Club. The very best golfing experience is Pukalani Country Club. It is a perfect setting. Nowhere on the island is there a more laid back atmosphere. It is beyond a shadow of a doubt, the most appropriately named course..".Pukalani, Entrance to Heaven." It is the BEST price, the BEST people,, and the BEST place on Maui. I have been playing Pukalani Country Club since 2001. I will play this course every time I visit Maui. To Ron, Tassie, Jeff, and the rest of the staff, who have become my personal friends, ........Thank you for a wonderful golfing experience. I shall return!
Mahalo!

I have traveled to play golf in Scotland,New Zealand,Costa Rica,Pebble Beach and
many many more awesome golf venues and "THE BEST" golf experience I have had
is at Pukalani Country Club!! The local feel, golf course, value and scenery as well as the people who include the Head Pro Ron,Tassie in the Golf shop,Poncho the marshall,Jeff one of the starters and Leslie and Barbara in the reastaurant are truly exceptional people with lots of kindness and Aloha Spirit that raise the bar for any other golf courses I have been to and
that work at Pukalani speaks volumes about this heavenly golf course and why I believe it is
truly the best kept secret on Maui. The lack of tourists is very appealing to me as I have played every course on Maui including the Plantation Course at Kapalua, but playing with the Locals like Brent Stricker and having them share their Aloha spirit with me truly made my vacation
such an awesome time!! I have been going to Maui for almost 30 years now and I have to play
Pukalani 36 holes a day several times, enjoy their wonderful reastaurant and staff and take in the cooler temperatures and scenery this heavenly place on earth offers. It is a must for the beginner or advanced golfer and your Aloha memories will be enhanced by this magical place on Maui. Cheers to all who have experienced Pukalani Country Club and to all of you out there who have not had the awesome experience book your airfare and call Pukalani for a tee time it is a surely a 10 on a scale of 1-10!!!!!!!!!!!! Hit'em straight!! Cheers Dan Jackson
