“Shark Dive!”
Reviewed 21 November 2013

The Maui Ocean center offers a very relaxed dive in their main tank. We got to swim with about 20 sharks including scalloped hammerheads and a juvenile tiger shark. I never thought I would've gotten into the water with a tiger. We've done this dive twice and there's always something new. On our recent dive, the dive master actually allowed us to touch the rays and the tail of a sleeping white tip. We also got to do a little feeding but the hammerhead got a little too frisky so the dive master decided to stop. All good though. Plus you get to bring friends and family in if you do their shark dive. A great way to spend a few hours in Maui!

“Better than expected”
Reviewed 20 November 2013

Our visit to this aquarium was on our last day as we were checked out of our hotel and did not fly out until evening. We were very glad we didn't fly out earlier! The ocean center was larger than we expected after reading the reviews. Of course it is as large as a world renowned aquarium, however it easily took up a few hours of our day. Our daughter is 17 months and loved the well lit displays that she was able to get right up to. It was probably the most excited she was on the entire trip which really made us happy as well. This is a perfect place to visit on a cloudy/rainy day or while you are waiting for your flight!

“Great Day”
Reviewed 20 November 2013

We enjoyed the Maui Ocean Center. It was quite large and had a lot of fish to see. The staff was very friendly and eager to ask questions all throughout. I did expect to see more different kinds of corals, polyps, and the like; but realize that the exhibits were focused on items that are near the islands. We loved that all of the fish are captured and eventually returned to sea.
