“Amazing Educational Experience”
Reviewed 22 August 2014

I visited the Maui Ocean Centre with 8 Pathfinders (Girl Guides of Canada) who were between the ages of 13-15. We took the turtle and shark feeding tour where our guide was very good at providing us with lots of information about the centre and the marine life at the centre. The centre initially seems on the smaller side of things, but there is so much to see, learn and experience that you can easily spend several hours at the centre. The shark tank with the walk through glass tunnel is very cool. We watched the divers get into the shark tank and feed the stingrays by hand and then later feed the other sharks. Mike was the commentator for this presentation and he was awesome. He had a great disposition and easily handled all the questions that were asked of him. I had the chance to chat with Mike personally later in the day and he is a real gem of knowledge about the marine life and the lifestyle of the local Hawaiians. The interactive pools were quite neat. I also appreciated the living reef display with all the different types of sea life at different levels of the reef. Keep up the good work!

“Still one of our favorites”
Reviewed 22 August 2014

Every time we visit Maui we make sure to visit MOC. It is still one of our favorite aquariums anywhere and this time was no different. The tropical fish exhibits are amazing and there is just something so calming about being able to walk outside to look at turtles, sharks, etc. while having palm trees swaying and being able to see the surf out on the ocean. The indoor shark exhibit is also amazing - especially the glass walk-thru tube where I could just sit and watch the sharks and rays all around. But one of the best parts of MOC is their gift shop which is probably the best one we saw in all of Hawaii. I just cannot say enough good things about this place and we will definitely return again (hopefully sooner than later).

You feel like your in the sea. Great place to learn about all the creatures in the sea. The shark exhibit was fantastic. The diver was in the tank with the sharks and gave a get description of shark behavior, etc. She took questions from the audience which made it very personal.

This is a wonderful place for the whole family and even young children can enjoy it.

“Up close and personal aquarium experience”
Reviewed 18 August 2014 via mobile

Maui Ocean Center is a great location to view and learn about the sea life around Maui. It is interactive in the exhibits which makes for a more personal experience. It's location in Ma'alaea means that it is centrally located to the main areas where visitors stay.

“Seaside Aquarium”
Reviewed 17 August 2014

Very interesting! Children will really enjoy this. Get to walk under and up to giant aquarium walled rooms. It was really interesting even for adults. (Was a lot more to it than it looked like from the outside.)
