My husband and I just returned from the sunrise tour of mount Haleakalā. Billy was our guide and he got us up there before anyone else and we had the best spot for photos. He was super punctual upon pickup and we were back at our hotel before 10 am. Billy was both courteous, funny and very knowledgeable. He made sure we safe and kept us entertained. After the drive down we had a full buffet breakfast as well. Overall very enjoyable and worth getting up for that 2 am pickup. Pack warm clothes, it’s extremely cold up there!

Had a really great time on the Road to Hana with Koa! This is a LONG trip, like 12 hours altogether. Breakfast is a joke so make sure you eat well before you get picked up. Definitely best tour we had in Hawaii. Saw a ton of things, have amazing pictures and memories, completely worth it! I don't know how Koa keeps all that information in his head. He could definitely write a book - maybe a few. Lunch was decent. Loved that it was a small group tour, it made the experience much more enjoyable. My one criticism would be they made a few too many little vendor stops. I would have preferred to stop at more waterfalls or the bamboo forest. I felt like this was wasted time because for the most part no one in my group happened to buy anything at these stops & because there's nothing else to do at them, we just wasted 10 minutes hanging around. Despite this, I would still 100% recommend taking this tour over driving to Hana yourself. It is way more worth it to relax & enjoy the view then try to focus on narrow winding roads & watching out for other tourists in rental cars who have no idea how to drive.

Excellent tour. Pick up at the hotel, continental breakfast followed by comfortable ride to the top. Billy and Mike made sure we were the first ones there, and we got the best spots to watch the sunrise, which was spectacular! The park gets packed (500 people), so getting there early is critical. It’s cold so dress warmly. Billy and Mike were terrific, and provided great commentary and humor (needed when you wake up at 2 am). We made a couple of extra stops on the way down, and stopped for a full breakfast. Excellent tour with a couple of fun guides!

We spent @ 12 hours with David today and the tour exceeded our expectations. He was phenomenal with his driving skills. Trust me... you don’t want to drive this and you can’t enjoy it if you are foolish enough to do it. The crazy amount of information and jokes were so interesting, fun and incredible.....that he could tell us about soooooooooo much.
We loved that we got to see the front and back of the island. Other tours don’t do this!!!!!
The back side was as beautiful if not more, than the Hana side. You don’t want to miss that!!!
Worth every penny!!!!
Will do it again with them (and hopefully David). If we ever return to Maui!!!
Definitely ask for David’s tour if he is working the day you want to go!!

Eric is a very knowledgeable and responsive guide. The tour was extensive with stops to the popular and special sights with lunch included at a good price. Eric is a native with fascinating historical insights of the islands people.
We will take another tour of Maui with Valley Island Excursions.
