Return visitors, have found the place to be as nice and friendly as before, breakfast still delicious, rooms still comfortable, well-decorated and neat. Very enjoyable to meet other guests over breakfast or otherwise and exchange ideas for your stay, or get recommendations from the owners. Many locals from other islands stay here, which gives you a glimpse on what living on Hawaii is like. Very good base for all central Maui and upcountry activities, including Hana Highway.

Have stayed here multiple times. The house itself is gorgeous. The owner constantly redecorate in antiques and collectables from their travels according to the season. There is a wide front porch to sit on. The bathrooms are big. Each room is different; I have been in most of them and they each have different pluses. Breakfasts, even the "continental" for early risers, are hearty, especially on Wednesday mornings.

Are you tired of the usual Hotel / Resort made "with a stencil"? are you travelers who likes to taste the true flavor of a foreign country, meet people from different countries and share experiences, customs and different adventures?
Then this is definitely the place for you!
We stayed at this beautiful B & B for 8 nights at the end of a long honeymoon of 3 weeks started in San Francisco, and we have been divinely!.

The Old Wailuku is located just 10 minutes drive from the airport, in an area (Wailuku) that is absolutely non-touristic in Maui but at the same time near the main roads to travel around the island.
This area is very quiet, you can enjoy silence peace and relaxation, by night overall!
The B & B consists of two buildings surrounded by Hawaiians gardens, filled with never-seen plants and exotic flowers.
The rooms are very clean and comfortable and some of them (like ours, the ULU one) are equipped with Hot tub (and abvioulsy the shower).
Janice, the owner, is very keen to pamper its guests with its fantastic typical breakfasts (every day the menu offers various dishes, but still very abundant and of excellent quality) and with all the comforts that one would not expect from a B & B: beach towels or mats at your disposal, different Frigo-bags to bring food on the beach as well as a fridge / freezer to store your personal drink&food.
There is also a mini fridge full of drinks and snacks in the common part (the one used for breakfast ).

Which does not happen in the big resorts, the Old Wailuku breakfast (served always
at 8:00 in the morning or 7 am, in the latter case you can choose a continental breakfast) is a great opportunity to meet other guests (From different parts of the world!) and chatting with them and discuss and swap information or advice on the most beautiful and interesting sights of Maui (in this Janice can give you a big help!).

if you are hungry in the evening, after a long day spent on Maui's beach, there are a lot of restaurant in Wailuku (non turisitic, so you can eat great local food with the cheapest fare!): in your room you will find a book where you can check menu and all the infos about them!

So, what can we say at the end? the last week at the Old Wailuku was the "Cherry on the cake" of our wonderful honeymoon.

a big THANK YOU to Janice and her family for the reception and the spirit they welcomed us in their beautiful Old Wailuku!!

The inn is convenient to downtown Wailuku, close to good eateries, and easily accessible to sights. The staff - Tom, Janice, and Maria - are friendly, professional, and accommodating. My room was beautiful, quiet, and comfortable. I was on a business trip and the room was a calm place to relax and get away from work. High ceilings are equipped with ceiling fans. The rooms reflect Hawaiian culture and history, especially with beautiful quilts adorning the beds. (And there's a book that explains quilting in Hawai'i.) Sit on the lanai or wander in the garden.

Coffee, tea, and soft drinks are always available, as are sweet and savory snacks. The continental breakfast is better than any continental breakfast I've ever had. If you're there on a Friday, stay for the "regular" breakfast: French toast with an amazing cottage cheese, macadamia nut, and mint sauce!! They even ask if you have dietary preferences, restrictions, or allergies.

Room Tip: Bird of Paradise room was a quiet, corner room. Although the room is on the side of the inn toward t...

The Old Wailuku Inn at Ulupono has it all-comfort, beautiful surroundings, proximity to the Maui County circuit court (I am a lawyer travelling on business), a pleasant (but not obtrusive) staff and a truly wonderful, and varied, breakfast. The Inn also has an Island, family feel, which soothes the jangled nerves of this Honolulu resident after an annoying day of work. Mahalo nui loa, you folks!

Room Tip: I have only stayed in the Puukenikeni room, but really like it.

I've been staying here for business and vacation trips for several years. It's always a pleasure to stay at this cozy little gem of a house. This B&B is steeped in Hawaiian culture and the aloha spirit; clean, perfect attention to details; quiet location and convenient to all parts of the island - whether you want to hang out in old Wailuku town, go to Upcountry or Kula, spend the day at the beach in Kihei or Kaanapali - it's a great location. They offer beach towels, beach mats and coolers so you can pack your own picnic lunch. Janice, Tom and Shelly and their staff are wonderful hosts!! And finally, their breakfasts are delicious!!

This is an excellent B&B. My wife and I have stayed at places that are almost hotels as well as a single room in a person's home. The proprietors are very friendly and accommodating, especially about dietary needs (vegetarian and gluten-free). The rooms are clean and well-maintained, and the price point seems right for Maui. Although we prefer to try different places, I would not hesitate to come back to this establishment. So I recommend putting this at the top of your list. I have the most minor complaint: The wifi network is a bit spotty if you aren't in the main house. Other than that, however, this is as good as it gets.
