We love Old Wailuku Inn at Ulupono! This was our third time staying there and the rooms are so clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated with Hawaiian themes, the fab breakfasts are fun getting to meet guests from all over the globe and the owners have so much ALOHA! My husband and I plan to stay there on every trip. Thank you Janice and Tom for the hospitality and going out of your way to make our stay so comfortable.
Mahalo!

Great B&B right in Wailiku, basically a residential neighbourhood, safe and pretty quiet at night. The breakfast was amazing and they accommodate my gluten intolerance with almost no notice provided by me. The grounds are immaculate, the building is nice and feels historic. This area has the most reasonable dining options on the island, although largely Asian/American island cuisine. A Saigon was good.

The central air conditioning in the main building is really cool and you can dial it right in, very comfortable. There are complimentary refreshments for guests, fridge, beach towels, etc. the proprietor was friendly and helpful.

Overall a great place to stay for a few days. We would definitely go back to this great B&B.

We stayed 4 nights in the Bird of Paradise Room, choosing the inn because we have a preference for historic properties. Our room was large and comfortable -- on the same floor as the parlor and breakfast area, but quite quiet. Janice was a great host and breakfasts were ample and delicious. One of us is vegan and this was easily accommodated. Wailuku has tourist-oriented restaurants but also spots favored by locals. Inn has no pool and parking is a squeeze when all spots are taken. If you don't care about having an ocean view, this is the spot for you.

I don't plan to revisit beautiful Maui for some again; otherwise I would try to keep this place a secret. Believe me, you will love it and not want to leave. I stayed in the best-priced room with private patio and was completely delighted. Room is a bit dark but the French doors to your own outside space makes up for it.
Attractive hostess socialized with us each morning at a lavish breakfast. Plus treats are available throughout the day. Guests were also invited to a Chinese New Year celebration so we got a free dinner and opportunity to meet her friends and family one night.
Grounds and living room are available for the enjoyment of guests and are splendid.
Although the Inn is not near a beach, it's easy to get to many Maui beaches by city bus or car. We decided to forego renting a car and hiked and beached by foot or mass transit. However be aware that major attractions may require a vehicle for at least a day or two.
Shuttle cost to or from airport (VIP) is $18 plus tip.
The Inn does not provide laundry facilities and will not hold your baggage after check out.
Refreshingly (for us) town of Wailuku is resident-oriented rather than tourist-oriented. On first Fridays the small business center holds a modest street festival. Music is good quality and food booths are reasonably priced.

Room Tip: There is no swimming pool nor fitness center; was unable to correct rating.

We stayed 3 nights is the Uhu room. It is just off the sitting area and near the dining room but we did not hear any other guests. They have a strict 8am breakfast time for all (or you can have a light continental breakfast between 7-8) but it is well done.

My husband and I recently stayed at the Old Wailuku Inn for 2 nights. We received a warm welcome and tour before settling into our space. The room was cosy, quaint, very clean, and quiet. We loved sitting out on the veranda and the breakfasts were amazing. It was close to the gorgeous Kanaha Beach, where we spent a wonderful day swimming and watching the kite boarders and windsurfers.

My wife and I stayed at Old Wailuku for 3 days and were impressed with the Bed and Breakfast. The room was a good size and very clean, breakfast was varied, excellent and filling. The location was in Wailuku, fairly close to the airport, which is what we wanted for the first few days of our trip. Our only negative was that we were not greeted either on arrival (it was late in the day so we could understand that), or when we arrived at breakfast. The host did come to the breakfast room when everyone was eating but it did not really allow for any personal interaction - which we are used to, and appreciate, when at B&Bs.
