“Hawaii at it's best!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 September 2013

My fiancé and I just spent three wonderful nights at the Ke Iki Bungalows for the first time in the Pikake studio to celebrate my fiancé's birthday! I don't even know where to start but I do know that we wish we were able to stay for a few more nights and this definitely will not be the last time we stay at the bungalows!! The Ke Iki Bungalows are in a beautiful, peaceful, lucious, tropical location right on the beach. We thoroughly enjoyed the hammocks that are on the property underneath the pretty Palm trees watching the gorgeous sunsets with our Mai Tai's! The bungalows have everything you need to enjoy your stay including a full kitchen and Weber charcoal bbq's outside for the guests to use. The Pikake studio is perfect for two people and it was very roomy for a studio. We were lucky and saw a moonbow during our stay and it was incredible!! We would highly recommend going to Kono's in Haleiwa (approx 6.5 miles away) and having the Triple Crown sandwich or Pulled Pork plate. Opal Thai in Haleiwa is very good as well but arrive early as it gets very busy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Ke Iki Bungalows and we are already selecting our dates for next year! Greg is awesome and very helpful and we both wish we had his job. :-) You will not be disappointed with the Ke Iki Bungalows!!!!

Stayed here in August 2013 with family during summer vacation. This is THE place to stay on the North Shore, bar none. The property is off the Kamehameha Highway, about five miles east of Haleiwa. The setting is gorgeous---swaying palm trees, glittering golden sand, gentle ocean breeze, and the sparking blue Pacific. The property itself sits behind a security gate, is perfectly safe, and has on-site parking. Our unit was a beachfront bungalow with separate living and bedrooms and a full kitchen. The unit was modern and very clean, with Wi-Fi connection. There were patio furniture and grill available outside for BBQ/outside dining/relaxing.

Tip---when you arrive at the property for the first time, call the office to get the access code to the security gate in order to get into the compound, as you cannot check in unless you’re inside.

In general, there are two types of bungalows are available---oceanfront and garden facing. By all means get the oceanfront unit if you can. But be quick---the property manager told me that the oceanfront units are usually booked up to a year in advance, with the garden facing units going up to six months prior. So book ahead and enjoy your stay. We loved ours and will be back.

Super relaxing environment right on the beach! Spacious bungalows, stay here first before you check out anywhere else on the North Shore. You will not e disappointed with the location and hospitality of the owner. Can't wait to come back

I don't even know where to start. This place is exactly what shows up on their web site. Picture perfect. We went with two other families, so we got to check out other bungalows, they were all great in our eyes. Very clean, kitchens had everything you might need. Beach area beautiful and very clean. Barbecues in front of each bungalows, along with lounge chairs, tables and chairs outside your doorway. Hammocks outside grass area to relax in. Greg the Manager their could not have been nicer. He was their to greet us when we came in, and told us if he could help us with anything to please let him know. Washer n dryer access, bikes, etc. for your use. I could go on and on, so I better stop now. I look forward to our next vacation here. Thanks again Greg, for your wonderful hospitality.

Exactly as I expected it to be (and hoped it WOULD be), after reading the reviews and perusing their website.
(Read the reviews below - I won't repeat, but I WILL totally agree)
We just spent one night here (in the beachfront Hibiscus), as part of a short North Shore excursion while visiting Oahu.
Gregg was very helpful in meeting our needs, despite our short stay, and the property is just beautiful.
I can imagine this place must be just terrific in the winter, and would plan my trip around exactly WHEN I could have a beachfront bungalow.

We stayed here on honeymoon in the Protea apartment. It was a lovely change from the hotels and completed our authentic North Shore experience. You are right on the beach at this complex, up close to huge waves! International surf competitions take place here if you are lucky enough to be here at the right time.
We stayed for 3 nights and our apartment was lovely, on the upper floor of our unit with a wraparound balcony where we could sit out. This is not a beachfront apartment but it's across the complex (which is very small) to the beach. There are flora and fauna prints everywhere and raffia furniture. Everything was very clean and there is a full kitchen to cook if you want to. There is a TV and fans.
We loved staying here, it was very chilled out and romantic. One thing you must note is that this place is a rarity on North Shore, which has no other self catering complexes of this sort. There are only really private rentals or Turtle Bay resort.
There is only 1 food shack in the area at night if you want to eat out - Sharks Cove Grill. Hiring a car so you can drive to Hale'iwa and around is strongly recommended!
We were stunned at how different the North Shore was to Waikiki - it doesn't get a lot of tourists and you can see why they want to keep it that way. You are a very short walk from the apartment to Waim'ea Bay - which is a must for anyone with an interest in surfing!
Only downside was the owners didn't really greet us or show us around - we were told the key was in the door and that was about it!

My husband and I stayed here in the gardenia bungalow and LOVED it! We cant wait to return, and have already recommended to several people. The entire property is beautiful and so peaceful. We spent three days in Waikiki and then came to Ke Iki for the last part of our stay and wished we had stayed here longer and Waikiki less. The rooms are clean, and set up with everything you would need. Outside is a nice covered patio with a table and chairs and lawn chairs, facing the beautiful beach! I sat out there for coffee every morning.
Within walking distance is a grocery store, which is great for buying food and drinks for your stay. Within miles there are several things to do: Sharks cove for snorkeling, Haleiwa town, Waimea valley/falls, several different beaches, teds bakery, farmers markets with fresh fruit, etc. There is less to do than in Waikiki, and is much slower paced. Definitely great for relaxing and enjoying paradise.
I would recommend this place over a resort or hotel. I think its best to split the time in Waikiki and the North shore, since it allows you to see and do more.
Just be sure to book early since reservations can go almost a year in advance, and definitely do a beach front unit!

Room Tip: Beach front units
