“Not at all what we had expected, dreamed of, or paid for... : (”

Dreamer Yacht Charters

This pics and website site show a lovely sailboat and sounded so fun. I wanted to give my folks a wonderful anniversary gift to remember, as with my Father's health this would be his 1 and only trip to Hawaii (which he has always dreamed of). Upon boarding we were greeted with an unpleasant odor, which we endured the entire overnight trip. We had only one fully functioning toilet, which was in one of the "private" cabins, thus of course, not so private... The dinner was not what we requested, lunch was choice of a single processed ham or turkey sandwich, the snack was chips with processed cheese and there was a limited supply of drinking water. Most snorkelers on the trip were beginners. Before booking, it was requested they be kept under supervision, they were quite alarmed when they found themselves left alone with no guide... the Captain had returned to the boat shortly after helping them enter into the 30-40' water by a reef for snorkeling. We did not get to experience a "sailboat" since the sails were not once raised. A couple of personal items were forgotten on the boat. When we requested their return, the Captain said he would drop them by the hotel before our check out date (2 days later)... we never heard back when we left a message, nor get our 2 sentimental items back. There seemed to be as little effort as possible put forth by this charter to make this something special. This cost FAR exceeded the value of this adventure / excursion. We had much more fun at the local Luau (Germaine's) for a fraction of the cost!

This experience was not at all as represented. The boat was a live aboard, looking and smelling like it as well. Too bad, with a respectful Captain she would be a beauty. Bilge pump was running almost constantly.... Inadequate food, felt like we were on rations, and we're not huge eaters. Very impersonable, Captain spent most of his time smoking cigarettes on the back bow or playing some gambling game on his phone. He didn't once put up the sails, just motored along both days. I have sailed many times before and understand when you can & can't raise your sails, there were several others out with sails raised. There was no interest to show us a great adventure as his site represents, it was simply an overpriced ($1500) motorboat ride. This could have been an experience to remember, instead all it conjures up are bad memories all the way around. Sadly, we don't have one postive to take from this excursion, aside from making it back to Port. This was a once in a lifetime adventure we wanted to provide our family, we can't get this time back.... : (
