Just finished our third trip to Aulani. It has truly become our favorite place on the planet! The staff, the lazy river, the pools, the atmosphere...all of it is wonderful. We have an adult daughter with Down syndrome and we always bring her best friend, also disabled. They still adore the characters, the pool parties, the crafty things in the Community House. And the staff is incredible with them.

We had an ocean view one bedroom using DVC points. Incredible view. The room was very clean and well stocked. I cooked dinner a few times, made breakfast every day and made many lunches. Also there is washer and dryer which I used every day for swim suits and even towels since DVC members don't get towel service every day. We stopped at the Safeway on the way from the airport to get supplies.

This is our first time in a one bedroom. We had a two bedroom the last two times. So there a couple of issues that I didn't consider before. First, the bathroom has slatted doors, allowing little privacy. A silly design feature. Also there is no storage in the living room. The couch pulls out to a comfortable bed and there is a single bed thst folds down under the tv. But that means there are no drawers in the living room. Another silly design feature.

Some people complain about the food. I think it is fine and yes expensive but so are all restaurants in Hawaii. The Monkeypod across the street had good food, again a little pricey, with entertainment every night. The Marriott next door has a nice restaurant, Azul, with excellent food. And there is a sushi place across the street that was great.

Also, if you play tennis, the marriott had tennis courts you can use for $23 an hour. We played there three times.

Aulani is a great place for families and adults. We travelled with our 3 year old daughter and stayed 7 nights.

The resort facilities are fantastic and we were very sad to leave. Great variety of pools including adults only areas, water slides, the lazy river and the baby pool. The pool staff were great and the process for tagging and towels was smooth. I don't think it was very busy while we stayed although it wasn't quiet either. I felt like we didn't have much problem finding a seat as they were always timing seats and removing towels.

We loved, loved, loved Aunt's Beach House! Our daughter was happy to go each night and watch Frozen while we had an adult dinner. The only problem was lining up at 7am to sign up for the meal program which was the best value kids meal in the resort. The free activities were also always filled early. It would be tough for a large family to get kids into those programs.

The restaurants were good but for a 7 night stay try the Marriott restaurants as well. Being from Sydney, we didn't find the prices too bad although it was much better over the road at Monkeypod. It's a must for live music and atmosphere.

We signed up for breakfast but didn't realise this meant credit for breakfast items in the cafe. This wasn't too bad but I would have preferred to save money off the room and choose to eat breakfast elsewhere.

The gift shop was a nice surprise as I was expecting to pay $$$ for cheap souvenirs.

The spa was nice but hard to get into and I've had better salon services (the only available appointments) for much less.

Overall, staff were lovely and helpful, facilities were well worth the price and we loved the not too over the top Disney experience.

This honestly has to be the perfect resort for families. You have the beach, pools, lazy river, water slides, waterpark, tons of kids activities, the Disney characters and loads of interactive play for the kids! It is absolutely fantastic!! We stayed a week in a 2 bedroom villa through RCI, with a balcony overlooking the resort interior. Great view and you could here the music play down below in the evenings. Great ambiance!! We did a character breakfast one morning and the kids loved it! Everything about this resort is perfect, and as usual, the Disney staff is second to none. Their customer service and attention to detail is outstanding!! If it wasn't for our timeshare exchange, we would have never been able to afford this resort, but thank goodness an RCI room came available.

Across the street is a little coffee shop, ice cream and shave ice shop, a variety store with a few groceries, restaurants and some boutique shopping. A short cab ride away are stores and grocery stores, as well as a costco.

I would HIGHLY recommend this resort to any family!! My 2 year old asks us almost every day when we are going back. :)

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the resorts interior, so you can enjoy the evening ambiance of music.

I went there with my family that included two grandkids. i chose to go there at the end of the trip as knew they wouldn't want to leave and anything else would be a disappointment. It is expensive and although some entertainment is included, meals are not. There is a character breakfast that is $18 per person where some Disney characters come around and you can have pictures taken. You can get a card that you give to characters when you have pictures taken and then you will see them on your TV and can decide if you want to purchase them. There is a nice beach where you can even order food and drinks. There are several pools including the lazy river where you float on an inner tube and the water keeps moving. One of the most fun things is the scavenger hunt where you get an electronic device and find various places. When you get to the place, you activate something with the device like drums making beating sound or water squirting out of something. The property is large and Hawaiian themed. There is a free hula show and family movie nights. There is a place where kids can be left by their parents and it is supervised with lots of activities to do. You don't have to eat at the resort as nearby there are restaurants and stores. You have to pay for parking at the resort. All in all, it is very expensive but enjoyable and the kids really loved it.

Room Tip: There are choices for a price based on the view. The ocean or pool view are nice but you pay extra...

My daughter and I loved this place. Has a bit of something for everyone- we love Disney so a stroll with Mickey was amazing. For my husband- beautiful pools and a beachside lagoon. A teen area for my other daughter. All in all a great place. I would say unless it is a character breakfast avoid the buffet and pay a bit more for the beachside restaurant which was fantastic.

We stayed at this resort in April 2014. We enjoyed our stay immensely!! We had a villa and we were extremely comfortable. The rooms and the resort as a whole gave a Hawaiian feel rather than a Disney feel. All the best Disney quality, high standards and friendliness without the "in your face Disney". Our children loved Auntys Beach House!!! They were always entertained and enjoyed being there. The pools and beach are so clean and a lot of fun with there always being something to do. AMA AMA restaurant was superb (as well as the coconut shrimp from one of the poolside kiosks!).

The lanawai spa was amazing!!! It was luxurious and very relaxing. The adult only areas were very secluded and I forgot where I was for a moment!!

Lots for adults, teens and kids to do, day and night!

Cannot wait to visit again!!

Disney rule #1- go off season ! Can't say enough great things about our stay. Yes, maybe it is Disney's version of "faux" Hawaii, but I loved every minute- the Hawaiian music always playing softly in the background, the beautiful landscaping, the clean beach and all the staff- from the grounds-keepers to the restaurant severs were super friendly . I live in an area where restaurant dining prices are high anyway, so the resort prices weren't much more and quality and service were very good-if you live in an area where you can get a dinner entree for under $20-you may have sticker shock. However, you can get a great ahi tuna sushi role at "off the hook" for $15 and that's almost a meal itself. The dining views at AMA AMA can't be beat. Breakfasts are around $10 at the casual counter service restaurant near rainbow reef and the snack shack on the beach has good lunch options too under $15. My only minor complaint were alcholic drinks tend to be to sweet and "juicey" and are in the $10 range, but some people may prefer the "tropical" style sweeter cocktails. This was our 2nd trip (this time kid-free) and we really enjoyed the entire experience.

Room Tip: If you can, get the beach view rooms, rooms closer the the Oleo restaurant allow you to hear the liv...
