We did enjoy our stay, Because of the pools, but I was expecting a five star experience and it was an average hotel. Iron didn't work, a cabinet doorbell off in our "kitchenette" if you can call it that.

I guess we paid the high prices for the pools and beaches, and they were great! The "spa" rooms were not acceptable at all! The women's steam room reeked and I actually warn against going in there.

To top it off, we were surprised with a $210 dollar parking fee at the end of our stay! Oh well, live and learn. Won't stay there again.

We stayed at the Ko Olina for 7 days and 6 nights and we had a blast! They have activities everyday for people of all ages, a private beach for guests only, the best smoothies you have ever tasted, and plenty of pools and hot tubs.

We spent 4 nights in a two bedroom beachfront unit with another couple. This was the perfect way to de-stress and relax after 4 hectic days in Waikiki. We had no problems with the check in and received a 5th floor unit, it was clean and well appointed. The only criticism is the 5th floor is at the same elevation as the canopy of the coconut tress so they partially blocked the view.

Be aware that this a timeshare mot a full service hotel however the common areas and restaurant areas are much superior to most timeshares.

The master suite has a king size bed with full ensuite including a jetted tub. The second bedroom has 2 double beds with full bathroom across the hall. The bedrooms are private as the common kitchen living/dining room separates them.

Internet is free but quite slow however there is wireless as well as ethernet (both free) and the lattter improves the speed some however downloading large files was still very slow.

The grounds are well maintained with extensive pools and beaches. The beach was not crowed and it was easy to get beach chairs. We particularly enjoyed the hot tub at the south end of the resort that had a wonderful view of the beach. The beaches are engineered half moons with cuts in the reef that allows good water circulation but very little wave action. The water was also warmer than the open pacific and very pleasant. Beaches were spotless with hardly any weed in the water, perfect for swimming, not good if you want to surf or use a boogie board.

We did not try the onsite restaurant as we went off property for 2 dinners and used the excellent gas BBQ's provided onsite for the other 2 nights. There is a JW Marriott hotel 15 mins walk down the beach walk that offers several dining options

There was adequate parking on site with choice of surface parking or parking garage. We chose self parking (free with our package) but valet parking was also available for a fee. I would highly recommend having a rental car because of limited activities within walking distance.

Very nice golf course available within walking distance but a free shuttle pickup is offered. ABC food store, coffee shop, ice cream 15 min walk / 5min drive away.

In summary, this is an ideal vacation for couples or family that wish a beach centered vacation nice setting that is relatively remote from Honolulu. There was good highway connections to off site attractions at Pearl Harbour and the Polynesian Cultural center for day trips.

Room Tip: Ask for higher floor room, above 7th floor to avoid having view obstructed by coconut trees.

Could only afford to stay here due to hubby's points, but don't plan to stay anywhere else when we vacation in Oahu in future. Only drawback was finding decent food/restaurants, neither onsite nor nearby, but we had a full kitchen and grill so Bbq'd some steaks and that worked out great.

In full disclosure, our family lived in Hawaii and actually lived in some condos in the Ko Olina resort. We love this amazing little spot on this planet. That said, our family has vacationed at Marriott's Ko Olina Beach club both prior to and after having lived there.

The resort is on this perfect little lagoon for families with small children. There are also great swimming pools to keep everyone entertained. The fact that this hotel is a timeshare means that the rooms are spacious and have a kitchen and washer/dryer.

There is a lot to do in the area. I wrote more about it on our family travel blog: www.worldfamilytravellers.blogspot.com

Great accomidations with excelent service. All the people were friendly andhelpful. Only had 2 resturants on the grounds but enjoyed both. The prices were competitive with local eateries and the food was very good. When on vacation in popular areas, the prices are always higher but worth it. In buying everyday items best to drive into town and buy at Safeway, the small store on site is very expensive. Location was within an hour of all sights thus made the stay more enjoyable. Room wise try to get a room overlooking the pools. Only draw back to pools they were overly shaded for those who like sunbathing. Great pools for kids.

This Marriott has amazing pools. There are lots of programs (most of them cost to participate in) and is on a nice and safe swimming lagoon (not worth snorkeling at). The grounds are beautiful and we really enjoy our time there.

We don't mind staying out of town for part of our holiday, but we move into town to do our sightseeing. The traffic on the highway in and out of town is terrible (you really have to make sure you aren't driving during rush hour). After driving to and from the hotel a few times you really begin to feel far away from everything.

This is our second time at the resort and although I would love to stay there again, we might not bother to go back - too many other places to see. Most of the guest are great, but on both of our visits here we noticed the crouchy older travelers who really let you know that they don't like kids around - one of them went right out of her way to bully my child who was being quite and still can't figure out what she did to deserve it. The only thing to miss about the hotel is the pools, Chief Avea's welcome show on Monday night and his Fia Fia show on Tuesday is excellent - the food at it is so so.

The hotel is expensive for everything. We bought someone timeshare week off them when they couldn't use it last year and we got a week for an amazing price. This Beach Club is a couple of properties from the new Disney hotel which might make the Marriott have to do something to be more competitive to attract clients, because it looks like many of their rooms even at high season aren't booked.
