We wanted to grab something to eat before doing some shopping and were not sure where to eat. We were deciding between a couple of places, including some plate-lunch places, KFC, Subway, and even McDonald's, which were all right there clustered in the area. Just before yielding the decision-making to my husband, we noticed a couple heading to Kunio. We hadn't tried this place before, but we love Japanese food, and we figured that if this couple was walking purposefully to Kunio, there must be a reason. The interior of the restaurant is bigger than I thought. The food is very good. I had the combo plate with the misoyaki butterfish and vegetable tempura. My husband had udon and a piece of shrimp tempura. The portion sizes for my combo plate were quite generous, and my husband enjoyed his udon. Price-wise, I can't say it's cheap. The price for our meal, with just water to drink, came out to around $33. It was a bit more than we had planned to spend for lunch, especially since we were even considering the value menu at McDonald's. But, food and quality-wise, we were pleased with our meal at Kunio. The place is very popular, with lots of folks there enjoying their meal. I can see why. The food is good, and the restaurant is very pleasant to sit in. It's a nice place to come inside, enjoy a meal, and relax comfortably.
