“hidden seafood gem in Waipahu”
Reviewed 20 April 2012

If you're in or around Waipahu, you can scarcely do better than stopping here for lunch. Chef Elmer is a legitimate talent and focuses on fresh ingredients and well designed recipes. Great food - humble setting and surroundings

“Very good Poke and well worth a visit”
Reviewed 24 October 2011

We stopped in at the Waipahu location and decided to go to the Mililani Mauka location (95-1840 Meheula Prkwy, Mililani, Hawaii) because we wanted to sit inside. Same great Poke and equally cheerful staff. Great place for Poke and nice selection.

“Dirty place with rubber slipper short ribs”
Reviewed 7 October 2011

Threw plate in trash as Short ribs were so rough, garlic shrimp had no flavor at all (not deveined), brown rice was crunchy and burnt, potato salad looked old and tasted tangy. All this after waiting 20 min., waste of 9.00.

“Great pride in food”
Reviewed 29 August 2011

The effort to get here was worth-it. Although take-away style, presentation was beautiful. Husband had the deconstructed sushi (excellent flavours) and I ordered the special 3 seafood (yummy panko coconut prawns). Good service- we could taste-test the poke.

“Very good poke”
Reviewed 27 February 2011

Heard about this shop on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives so thought we would give it a try. This place is tiny! There is limited seating outside and no restroom. The menu is posted on the wall plus there is a white board with daily specials. The display case has lots of poke to select from and samples are offered. The staff was very nice and helpful. If you order an entree or sandwich you can add on a small poke of your choice for $1.95. I ordered the Shrimp Po Boy and it was tasty but the roll actually broke in half it was so stale. I had also asked how large the roll was before ordering because I was sharing it and the young man suggested it was about a foot-long -- it definitely was not! More like 6 inches. My sister ordered the daily special with three items - fried soft shell crab, beef and something else I can't remember. I don't think she was very impressed with anything but definitely not the beef.
My advice is stick with the poke because it is very good.
