“Lobster Delivered!”
Review of Rose Eden Lobster

Rose Eden Lobster
Ranked #2 of 153 Restaurants in Bar Harbor
Certificate of Excellence
Price range: US$10 - US$40
Description: Rose Eden Lobster is the former Travelin' Lobster. We are continuing to serve fresh Maine lobster, at the same location, at an affordable price cooked the way it has always been cooked. We are still primarily a takeout restaurant but as always we have limited outdoor seating for those who choose to eat under the apples trees. We are a seasonal business open from 26 May to 1 November. The business was started to provide fresh seafood for the people staying at Rose Eden Cottages. It evolved into much more than that when people who weren't staying at the cottages discovered they could also buy fresh seafood at a reasonable price. That led to a much improved lobster shack that is now in operation from 25 May to 1 November. Dylan, who is a teacher in the off season, has been involved in all phases of the Rose Eden Lobster (former Travelin' Lobster) since its inception.

We are staying at Hadley's Point Campground and we were able to get one pound of mussels, 2 lobsters and 2 ears of corn for $35.59 it was a fantastic down home lobster boil loved it! So convenient to get delivery right to our motorhome.

Great to hear that you took advantage of and enjoyed our delivery service. And more important, that the lobster was great. Thanks for doing a review for us.

I read a review in a travel book and some reviews on this site, and I'm glad I listened. It is small in someone's backyard, but that just made it more fun. They are open from 3-8 and although we got there at 4:30, they were sold out of hard shell lobsters. Actually our friends got the last 2. so we had the soft shell lobsters and they were just as good (and cheaper). Our total came to $40, and that's only because a 3% credit card charge was added to our bill. Most lobster pounds only take cash, so if you want to avoid the charge, bring cash. And it's BYOB as are most of the lobster pounds. Very enjoyable evening!

Thank you for taking the time to do a review. The reason that most lobster pounds are cash only is the charges for use of a credit card. In most cases it is at least 4%. That is a lot for a tiny, seasonal business to absorb. Glad you enjoyed the experience and the lobster. Please come see us again.

This place is a hidden gem in someone's back yard. Outside seating or takeout but the lobster, clams, and corn are fresh. The staff, all two of them are friendly and accommodating. Lobster to eat or packed for travel.

We might have gone somewhere else if I hadn't seen these reviews! This is a very small lobster shack on the side of the road, with some outdoor seating. The seafood was the best I've ever had in the northeast. The prices are very reasonable and the service is second to none. Stopping here is a no-brainer.

Many thanks for the great review. We may be small but that just means we try header. The key is fresh seafood cooked to perfection and served with a smile. Please visit us again when you are in the Bar Harbor area.

With so many Lobster restaurants & pounds in Mt. Desert to choose from, you don't want to make a mistake, and this was a good choice. Recommended by our hotel front desk. This is a very bare bones establishment, but if that's what it takes to keep the prices low, we're all for it. Although, the Blueberry pie was good, it was a bit pricey. The only thing I would change would be to add a few more picnic tables, and supply some wetnaps, and lobster bibs!

Thank you for taking the time to do a review for us. We do have bibs. We don't have an abundance of picnic tables because we are predominantly a take out. Good to hear that you enjoyed our no frills operation. Please come to see us again.
