My husband and I stayed overnight here and we couldn't be more impressed. Renovated room (cottage 10), heated pool (which is kinda important in Maine if you want to be able to swim more than a few days a year), and tons of charm. We live in Maine, and stayed here so we could attend an event on MDI and not have to drive the hour home. We would not hesitate to suggest this place to friends and relatives who want to go the Acadia, and I think we will be staying here again sometime just for fun!

We stayed at Hanscom's and just wanted others to know what a nice place it is. We stayed in unit 9 for 5 nights and really enjoyed the amenities, service, and cleanliness of our unit. The owners (Mary Deane and Mark) were very attentive to our questions and needs. There isn't a whole lot of businesses open in Bar Harbor in the winter but with their advice we founds some wonderful little restaurants and attractions that kept us busy for the entire stay. Bar Harbor is beautiful during this time of year, and Acadia still had some points of interest open that we really enjoyed. The highlight of our trip was the snowstorm on December 9th, being from Florida it was a real treat. Thanks, Mark, for keeping our doorsteps and the driveway cleared! We will definately be back next winter.

We stayed in cabin 10 and it was very clean and pleasant. The location was great as it was a few minutes to both downtown Bar Harbor and the park. We also had dinner nearby at the Chart Room which was also very good.
At the end of the road was access to a beach which you could walk on at low tide.
All in all it was a nice overnight stay.

Hanscom's Cottages are delightful, right-sized, modern and clean. Obviously recentlyremodeled. We've stayed in much more expensive motels, and none of them can match this. It is pet friendly, and apparantly, all pet owners pick up after their pets. It is clean inside and out. It is about 4 minutes to downtown Bar Harbor and priced right.. We are delighted we can stay here all week and plan to visit in the winter. Electric baseboard heating and newly installed air conditioners work well. And hot water is instant!!!

Finding bugs in your sheets is not the way to start a vacation. 3 couples stayed here overnight. We were catching an early morning ferry to Nova Scotia. The rooms themselves were basically OK, appearing renovated in the recent past. The location was good for catching the ferry. But when one couple pulled back the bedding to jump into bed for the night, there was first one then another bug skittering across the top sheet. Repulsive. Another couple said there were holes in their sheets. The management lost our reservation for a return overnight so we stayed somewhere else when we returned.
