Why didn't we check trip advisor before we checked into this hotel. It was awful! The beds were rock had and the linens were gross. The bathroom door wouldn't close and the brown paneled walls were nasty. Please trust me, you don't want to stay here for any price!

This so-called hotel is really terrible. The people who run it are anti-hospitality and will make you feel badly from the moment you walk in the door. The rooms are awful. Old beds and linen. No frig, no microwave, no shampoo or conditioner. I guess we are lucky they gave us soap and scratchy towels. The bathroom was absolutely filthy when we checked in. Yuck!

Avoid staying at this Motel if at all possible. It is very basic considering the price. There are absolutely no amenities. There is not even a soap dish in the bathroom. There are no toiletries. The rooms are shabby and run down. They state that they have WiFi but they do not. The first day they told us that it had "just gone down" and they expected it back by the end of day. The next day, one person told us it would be up within hours; another individual at the reception desk told us it would be about "a month". Looking back now at other Trip Advisor reviews (going back 2 years) it is apparent that they do not, and never have had WiFi, despite their claims to the contrary. The worst part however, was the attitude of the staff. They were rude and unaccommodating. They completely dismissed our concerns about the WiFi access and stated that "there was plenty of WiFi to be found in the town". When we (politely) told them they were charging for services they were not providing, their response was that "they could do what they liked because it was Bar Harbour and tourists would always pay". When we (shockingly) clarified that they were stating they could get away with providing poor service because it was "Bar Harbour" they just repeated "it's Bar Harbour..." It is unfortunate because we found Bar Harbour itself to be absolutely wonderful. The restaurants are amazing, the town is lovely and of course the proximity to the National Park makes it an awesome vacation destination. This was our only bad experience and I am writing this review in hopes that I can forewarn other travellers who might be considering a stay in this Motel.

When we first arrived, we were a little put off by the room. Its wooden paneling, dated furniture and weird small left a lot to be desired, but, once you get over that and leave the door open for a minute, it's clean and not bad at all. The price was good especially for the location. Well within walking distance of all the shops, restaurants, and attractions. It is what it is...a cheap motel in a pricey location. I recommend it if you are not too picky and are on a budget.

The motel is what you would expect of an economy place in a tourist town but it's location is wonderful for the price. Rooms are OK and it is a little dated for sure and could use some upgrade work. Nothing special here and no amenities so don't forget to pack everything you need to make your trip work. The motel is a location for walking around town and has a nice lawn to sit out and relax when you are not in Acadia National Park or Bar Harbor and the ocean. Housekeeping is extremely basic and we had to ask for tissue and toilet paper when it ran out.

Was booked into this place for five nights as part of a small guided group tour. The room itself - beds, sheets, heater/ac, bathroom - was acceptable, the housekeeping was good, and the front desk help were courteous. I did not have the negative experiences with these things that other reviewers have described. However, the room that I was in was noisy, noisy, noisy. "I'm sorry sir it's the only room we have left." The room was close to the street, so there was a lot of truck, bus, and motorcycle noise. It was near the ice machine, so there was on and off compressor noise. It was downstairs in what is apparently a tired old structure, so there was constant thumping and creaking noise from people walking around upstairs. It was near a stairwell, so there was the thump-thump-thump of people going up and down the stairs. All of that makes it hard to get to sleep and stay asleep, so it added up to a truly crummy lodging experience. I would say: if you can reserve a room in the wing that sits back from the street, and is upstairs, and is midway between the two stairwells, then you might consider staying at this place; if you can't reserve such a room, go elsewhere.

Room Tip: Accept only a room in the wing that sits back from the street, and is upstairs, and is midway betwee...

Very very very basic, nothing good to say about it except it is in Bar Harbor. We were greeted at check in by a Grump. There was no shampoo, wifi did not work.Bed was hard and lumpy. We could hear noise from the room next to us- no sound barrier. We would not recommend this motel to anyone. It is overpriced for what is provided and I would prefer never to stay at this motel again.

Room Tip: I would recommend you choose another place to stay.
