We have just returned from a two night mid-week stay at The Atlantic Eyrie Lodge in Bar Harbor, Maine. We were pleased with what they had to offer in accomodations and special price discount. We usually stay at the elite Bar Harbor Inn for $350.00/ocean-view room. But this visit we had some special needs which included needing 2 seperate rooms because of a loud snoring "Grandma" who was traveling with us.

I called the night before we were to arrive, after a last minute cancellation at The Park Entrance Oceanfront Hotel because I found out that they did not have air conditioning in the rooms I had reserved. I then found out that they had made a mistake in booking our rooms and could not give us 2 rooms next to each other as promised. After reading the bad reviews about it on TripAdvisor, I decided to heed the warnings and cancel.

Atlantic Eyrie Lodge was able to book us 2 rooms next to each other with great views of Frenchman's Bay at a special rate of only $110 a night. Two nice oceanview rooms for still much less than one room at the Bar Harbor Inn. Okay, they did not have Ethan Allen furniture and chintz drapes but their facilites were extremely well maintained and completely adequate for even my discriminating taste. Every detail of their hotel management shows that their employees care and the customers benefit from this good work ethic.

I would not hesitate to stay here again in the future even at the regular price of $155 per room in the Summer. Check it out, I think you will be pleasantly pleased with what you get!

My sister came to visit and needed a place to stay. She wanted a view but didn't want to pay a ton. The Atlantic Eyrie has unbelievable views and the price was the best anywhere in Bar Harbor for a view like that. The room was clean and had a balcony. Quiet location and a nice pool too! Would definitely recommend it for a family or couple on a budget!

For the money, you won't find a better value in Bar Harbor. The rooms are plain, but clean, and the beds are extremely comfortable. Our room was cleaned everyday and the linens changed. The view is spectacular -we enjoyed many mornings and evening sitting on the balcony. Breakfast is all carbs, but the muffins are homemade (blueberry, bran, cranberry, cinnamon). I would definitely return to this hotel!

We just returned froma one-week stay at the Atlantic Eyrie Lodge and we can't wait to go back. This hotel has a breathtaking view of Frenchman's Bay from a bluff overlooking all the beauty. The free shuttle makes regular stops so we hardly ever used our car. After an 11-hr drive we were cordially welcomed with two rooms exactly to our specifications. Our king-bed room had the mini-fridge and our sons' room had two double beds. Both rooms were immaculate, had irons, hair dryers, toileteries, and a second sink outside the bathroom. We loved to see the view from our private balcony and saw gorgeous sunrises.
Each morning, hot coffee, warm muffins, toast, english muffins, individually wrapped donuts, oj, are served from 7-9:30 on the first floor, overlooking the bay. I would bring up the food and enjoy breakfast from our 4th floor balcony.
The staff was so helpful in helping us with day trips, restaurants, cruises. Linens were high quality and the rooms were spacious.
The pool is accessible by stairs, which would be a problem for someone who is handicapped. But the grounds are beautifully kept, and visited by deer which we saw one evening. Just minutes from downtown Bar Harbor, this hotel is a perfect place for a relaxing stay. After seeing some other hotels which we saw when we were in Bar Harbor, we're convinced this has to be among the top five. For $150 anite, AAA rate, we couldn't have had such superior accommodations.

We stayed in the Bed & Breakfast building, and the rooms were lovely. It felt as if we were walking into a victorian inn. Beds were king-size sleigh beds with white matelasse bed spreads. That won me over. Please note that balcony is shared and anyone can walk by your window which looks onto your balcony. Staff were sweet also.

We spent two nights at the Atlantic Eyrie several years ago in the month of September. The staff was very friendly/helpful and our room was very clean, spacious and nicely furnished. The bath was large though not too well lit. Our balcony was perfect for relaxing and looking onto the swimming pool and Frenchman's Bay; also a nice view of Cadillac Mtn. Their continental breakfast lacked a lot to be desired......doughnuts still in their boxes, coffee and perhaps juice (can't remember). Perhaps it has improved over the years?
