We've stayed at the Bayview 3 times. We liked it the first time so much we make it a point to go back each year.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights during our honeymoon. It was great. We were sad to leave, which is very unusual for us. The room was very clean and spacious with a great view of the bay. We turned on the ceiling fan and opened the sliding glass door and the fresh air off the water filled the room and was just wonderful. The manager had left a nice hand written card and a bottle of champagne in our room for us upon our arrival to celebrate our honeymoon. It was little things like that that made the stay so enjoyable. All of the staff was very pleasant and helpful. The desk suggested some great places to eat. We booked a package that included a bus tour and a boat tour. We picked the time and they booked our reservations and gave us perfect directions and our passes. The breakfast was excellent and varied from day to day. My wife has food allergies and the kitchen staff worked with her perfectly to ensure she could enjoy her breakfast. The shuttle service into town was also invaluable. The shuttle drivers were prompt and pleasant and the way that the parking downtown was sometimes it was really awesome to not have that stress and inconvenience. Overall, we just really enjoyed our stay. The Bayview comes highly recommended by us!!!

We spent our honeymoon at the Bayview and we can not say enough great things about our stay! The staff was so warm and helped up to feel so welcome, the breakfast was mouthwatering, the afternoon-homemade cookies were delicious, and our room was beautiful and with an amazing view! We can not wait to go again and celebrate our upcoming anniversary!

My mother, sister and I spent 4 nights at the Bayview in Bar Harbor for a girls weekend away in October 2009 and we could not have been happier. From the moment we arrived and were greeted by name (like they were waiting for us) to time we sadly had to leave every single employee at that hotel was smiling, pleasant, opening doors, offering assistance, saying good morning/ afternoon/ night and simply went out of their way to help provide us with a carefree vacation..

The hotel itself is very nice... not too big not too small. Pleasant, clean up to date accomodations that felt comfortable without being pretentious., We were on the "lower" level which is actually about 5 feet above the ground. Our large room had 2 queen beds, a comfortable pull out sofa, table with chairs, TV, fridge and micro plus a very nice private balcony with 3 adirondack style chairs and a beautiful view of the water. We spent every afternoon enjoying cocktails and appetizers on that balcony gazing at the water and boats passing by.

What the Bayview calls a 'continental breakfast' I call a feast. Every morning they had the usual staples such as cold cereal, assorted fruits, fresh fruit salad, toast with jam as well as hot oatmeal, homemade granola, warm syrup, a half dozen assorted homemade breads and buns (pumpkin bread, health nut muffins, carrot bread with cream cheese filling, etc) Every morning they also had a featured hot dish such as Eggs Benedict, Smoked Ham, Egg & Cheese casserole, French Toast strata with baked apple compote, etc. Unbelievably good. Every morning the breakfast crew would come to our table and greet us and ask if everything was OK. How could it not be OK?

Then in the afternoons around 3PM a huge tray of freshly baked cookies and treats were brought out... just a little something to snack on with the ever present hot coffee, tea and cocoa. I am not talking your ordinary oatmeal or chocolate chip. These assorted delicacies were so good we were determined to taste them all, much to our chagrin since we were all trying not to watch our waistline expand. We even snuck a few back to our room for late night desserts.

The staff at the front desk was always available and eternally cheerful, whether it was 5:30 AM when we woke to get directions to Cadillac Mountain for the sunrise, or at 2:50 PM when we came begging (early) for the 3:00 cookie tray, or at 4 PM to offer advice on where to dine for the evening. They happily made reservations, knew to request certain sections of the restaurant, and then would call our room 15 minutes before the reservation time to remind us that the shuttle was ready for us... at our convenience. Of course if we were running late they would be happy to call the restaurant to move the reservation 15 minutes.

The Shuttle Service!! What a joy that was. The hotel was close enough to town, an easy 1 mile walk that my 77 year old mother had no problem with. But after browsing the shops or eating a meal and having a few drinks it was an absolute pleasure to have the shuttle come pick us up. We never had to wait more than 5 minutes.

I have had many different types of vacations and stayed at all kinds of accommodations, luxurious to dirt cheap run down; cabins, B&B’s, private home rentals and cruise ships. This visit to the Bayview ranks as one of my all time favorites. I felt like I was in Disneyland... everyone was eternally happy and helpful.

Of course the Bar Harbor area is beautiful and offers an abundance of all kinds of activities. The best part was after an action packed day boating on the water, touring the mountain, hiking the trails, riding the carriages, exploring town, trying all the local fish/ food at restaurants, it was always a pleasure to come back to a place that felt like home.

I would highly recommend the Bayview to anyone. I am already planning a return trip with my husband.

Really enjoyed our stay- the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the views are amazing. The breakfasts (eggs benedict, blueberry pancakes and sausage), plus much more, was so good! Jocelyn is super nice, and the little bar was fun to have a baileys and coffee at the end of the day.
Great place, worth the money- would definately stay again.

My wife and I just returned from a five day stay at the Bayview. I was impressed from my first call to make a reservation. The lady I spoke to was delightful and offered to help with other travel arrangements and recommendations.

The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The hostess at breakfast was especially friendly...stopping by each table to chat with the guests. The front desk staff offered a good recommendation for dinner and directions to other restaurants.

The Inn is conveniently located midway between two major entrances to Acadia and only about a mile from downtown Bar Harbor. They offer a shuttle to town where parking can be a problem especially if you are taking a boat tour. Our room was large and nicely furnished. The deck offered a great view of Frenchman's Bay and was almost as large as a small hotel room.

Breakfast was included and was very good. The main dish changed each day and there was a wide selection of homemade muffins, etc. They put out fresh cookies each afternoon and evening. (We skipped desserts with dinner and enjoyed the cookies instead.) There is a tiny bar open in the evening to get a drink.

We were there in the "off" season so the room rate was lower and we had a AAA discount. Even with those, the rate is not inexpensive. There are undoubtedly cheaper places to stay in Bar Harbor but all things considered, I think we got good value for our dollar.

My husband and I recently stayed at the Bayview on a 10 day trip through Maine. The Bayview was a good choice and we picked it based on their website and the reviews on trip advisor. From the moment we entered the property we were treated like we were family. I can't praise the staff enough for all that they did to make our stay enjoyable. The property itself is beautiful and sits back off the main highway and it is very quiet and has some of the best views from the balconies of the guest rooms. I think it was better to be here than right in the downtown unless you like crowds, noise and parking issues. The hotel has an on demand shuttle service that took you into the downtown area and picked you up when you were ready to come back. We parked our car at the hotel and never used it again except to go to acadia national park one of the days we were there. The area has so much to see and do you could not be bored and everyone at the hotel was very helpful with ideas of things to do, places to eat and directions.

The room we stayed in was on the 3rd floor and had excellent views. The room itself was immaculate and super clean as was the bathroom and the king bed was very comfortable. Since we had great weather we got to enjoy a few evenings out on the balcony enjoying that view and the quiet.

The breakfast served in the morning was delicious and plentiful. I could not believe all that they had to choose from to eat. different types of homemade breads, muffins, biscuits, pastries, egg dishes, cereals and homemade granola. Not to mention the wonderful, warm homemade cookies in the lobby everyday.

This place was a real treat and I cannot say enough good things about it, especially the staff, who went above and beyond to make sure we were having a good time and that we were comfortable.
