We selected Aysgarth Station partly because of the excellent reviews here on Trip Advisor, and partly because the "English B&B" would give us a little home from home on our travels. From the moment we arrived - and greeted by Warwick the cat on guard duty - we felt extremely comfortable in the home of Jayne & Steve. They provide a welcoming lounge, coffee and soft drinks 24 hours and a veritable library of information, maps and menus.
Our room Treefalls was beautifully decorated, with a huge - and high! - double bed. The little touches like the Aysgarth lip balm, and the chocolate covered blueberries truly made this a unique experience. If I was to be picky, a lack of a full-length mirror would be my only (and very minor) gripe!
Jayne is an amazing cook, and the perfect hostess, gathering her guests at breakfast as if we were all close friends. We enjoyed the fact that we were able to come and go as we pleased, even leaving car keys in case our car needed to be moved from the driveway at any time and we didn't have to be disturbed.
We loved Bar Harbor itself, and there was so much we didn't get to do in Acadia and the surrounding areas, but Aysgarth Station will be first on the list when we decide to come back.
