“Blown away by the personal touches...”

We selected Aysgarth Station partly because of the excellent reviews here on Trip Advisor, and partly because the "English B&B" would give us a little home from home on our travels. From the moment we arrived - and greeted by Warwick the cat on guard duty - we felt extremely comfortable in the home of Jayne & Steve. They provide a welcoming lounge, coffee and soft drinks 24 hours and a veritable library of information, maps and menus.

Our room Treefalls was beautifully decorated, with a huge - and high! - double bed. The little touches like the Aysgarth lip balm, and the chocolate covered blueberries truly made this a unique experience. If I was to be picky, a lack of a full-length mirror would be my only (and very minor) gripe!

Jayne is an amazing cook, and the perfect hostess, gathering her guests at breakfast as if we were all close friends. We enjoyed the fact that we were able to come and go as we pleased, even leaving car keys in case our car needed to be moved from the driveway at any time and we didn't have to be disturbed.

We loved Bar Harbor itself, and there was so much we didn't get to do in Acadia and the surrounding areas, but Aysgarth Station will be first on the list when we decide to come back.

Room Tip: Treefalls was a lovely room, but as its on the third floor be wary if you have too much luggage (lik...

We stayed at Aysgarth Station as part of our family trip from England. We were very warmly welcomed by Jane and when she showed us our two rooms, we found it difficult to choose between them as they were both equally lovely. The baked goods at breakfast were delicious and Jane could not have been more accommodating, offering alternatives to the daily cooked options too. We enjoyed meeting other visitors around the breakfast table in a really friendly atmosphere, with Jane and Steve joining in the conversations from the adjoining kitchen. It felt more as if we were staying with friends than in a B&B. We would have no hesitation in recommending Aysgarth Station to anyone visiting the beautiful area of Bar Harbour and Acadia.

Room Tip: Both rooms we stayed in were delightful.

My wife and I stayed at Aysgarth station for 3 nights right after our wedding. We arrived in the afternoon and were greeted warmly by Jane. We were given a quick tour and we were left to our own devices. We stayed in a room on the second floor which was cozy but not extravagant. The bathroom was very nice with a jacuzzi tub that was a little difficult to use but we figured it out. Breakfast every morning was delicious. The handmade baked items were so good I took some extras on our hikes and bike rides. Jane was very accomodating with advice and conversation. We made great memories at this B&B.

The hotel is located on a quiet street, only a few short blocks to Village Green where the shuttle stops are located. The shuttle buses go anywhere you want to go so we did not even need to move our car for several days. It is also close to many shops and restaurants. We arrived on the first week of October, and there was no problem with street parking. Jane and Steve are extremely knowledgeable and helpful with giving directions and advice. Jane’s breakfast was excellent. It makes you feel at home. Our room was very clean and well-decorated. The bed was very comfortable. Jane and Steve prepare menus from many local restaurants and have very detailed info and maps about Acadia National Park. If anyone is looking for the best B&B in Bar Harbor, I would highly recommend Aysgarth Station!

This B&B is perfectly located...everytthing in town is walking distance. And in my opinion - a B & B must be like this: A cosy living room with a fireplace...were you can talk to the other guest...24 hour coffee, tea and juice and really good baking stuff in the afternoon. also the breakfast is outstanding....very delicious and always an "extra"....Jane is really friendly and helpful.
So if you are looking for a place to stay in bar Harbor.....you found it!!

Room Tip: If you sent an E-Mail or take a look at the HP...you can figure ou, what is the best room for you

We stayed at Aysgarth Station for a couple days and were truly blown away with the personal touch and service the onsite Innkeepers provided. Jane spent time explaining what was where and gave wonderful suggestions for exploring Bar Harbor and the surrounding areas. Breakfast was served at a communal dining room table, and Jane created some wonderful hot breakfast! The place was clean and very charming! We had the opportunity to stay in two rooms during our short stay and both were perfect. Jane takes a lot of pride and we truly enjoyed our stays and would differently try to stay here again if we are in Bar Harbor!

Room Tip: If you are allergic to cats, you would want to pass on this B&B. they do have two adorable cats...

We had a great time in Bar Harbor. Steve and Jane were very helpful on all matters. The food was great, especially the afternoon snacks! Like most B&B's, most of the rooms are small, but, it was just perfect for what we wanted. Lots of B&B's in the area, but, I can not imagine them being any better than Aysgarth.
