This was my first experience in B&B and we had a great experience with Eric and Michelle. The location was great and super close to everything. We stayed in room # 7. Eric and Michelle were very thoughful. They serve a hot breakfast and it is different each day. They usually serve a dessert like breakfast opener and then items such as pancakes, waffles etc with a side of bacon or sausage. I think if you love sweets then the breakfast is really good. We are more savory people but still. breakfast was very filling. We didn't have children but I saw that they even had a kids breakfast. They putsout an afternoon snack bar filled with pastries and juice. Michelle also offered us their thermos since we decided to watch the sunrise at Mt Cadillaic, which I thought was considerate!!!The only thing that I found a bit inconvenient was that we couldn't get a 1 hour later check out. We wanted to hike before we drove back to Portland to catch a flight and ideally would have loved to shower but they weren't able to give us a late check out even for 1 hour later at noon. Maybe because it is high season and they were super busy and the rooms were full but it would have been really nice if they could have been a little flexible. Overall our experience was great!

Room Tip: I would call to ask about the size and heights of the rooms.

This was our first visit to Bar Harbor and weren't sure if we were gonna book in a motel or a B&B. Sure happy we booked at Holbrook. It's just a great place all in all. The place is just a 5 minute walk to downtown and just far enough for it to be a peaceful place. The place is superb! Very nice and well kept. Extra clean, no dust to be found and god knows there could be with all the decor, which is just beautiful by the way. Can't complain at all. As for the food, it is just sooooooo good! The presentation and care that is taken into consideration to serve us something special is quite evident. As for the snacks, they all seem homemade and of course, delicious. As for Eric and Michelle, they made us very welcome. Must say I didn't see Michelle a lot since every time I did, she was in the kitchen...just to show how much time she seems to be putting into making sure we were all well feed. As for Eric, he was very nice and forthcoming. I can only but recommand this place. If ever we do go back to Bar Harbor, I sure hope we'll be able to get a room because the way I see it, it'll be more and more hard to get one with such good ratings. Thank you so much to Eric, Michelle and their staff for making our stay such a pleasant experience and feel so welcomed and at home. Nancy & Martin

Went up to Maine for a long weekend in June and the stay was pleasant. Fine linen, cozy bed, small but functional shower, very good breakfast...and you can't beat the location. The house is so close to the national park, any entrance of it. It is also within walking distance to downtown Bar Harbor. The porch was large and very cozy...make sure you hang out there for afternoon tea or reading. The weekend happened to be the motorcycle weekend so there was some noise from the street traffic and moped riders who stayed in this same house.

Room Tip: The owner has local restaurant coupons so check them out. Acadia has nice beach. If you go to beach, ask for beach towel from the housekeeper.

First B&B experience and we loved it. The Holbrook House is but a few minutes walk to downtown and a short drive to Acadia National Park. The rooms were nicely furnished and very clean. Eric and Michelle are great hosts and make you feel right at home. Good storage for bikes, etc. The food was outstanding - especially the breakfasts and they even accomodated our special dietary needs. Bar Harbor is a great setting and The Holbrook House only added to our experience.

Michelle and Eric are wonderful owners of the Holbrook House. We were made to feel very welcome and comfortable. Our room was lovely, the porch delightful. Breakfast every morning was delicious as were the afternoon snacks. The porch was the perfect place to end the day with a glass of wine and chat with the other guests. The location is very convenient to Acadia National Park as well as downtown Bar Harbor. We will definitely return to Bar Harbor and the Holbrook House in the future!!
