“Perfect location to celebrate 40th anniversary”
Reviewed 10 September 2013

My husband and I stayed at the Edgewater to celebrate our anniversary. Everything about our room number 24 in the hotel portion was perfect. The room was exceptionally clean, spacious, comfortable with two lounge chairs, frig and beds to die for. Parking right outside the room made for easy packing and unloading. The deck facing the cove is comfortable and had a beautiful view. Looking forward to a longer stay next year in the same room for our forty first. Just wish we had more time for our stay, my only regret.

Absolutely perfect spot to stay. The view is magnificent and picture post card perfect. We stayed in the motel in room 24. The room is large, two queen beds (we slept like babies), two recliners and a wonderful porch overlooking the water. The bedding is Hilton quality and the room was very clean. Two sinks, refrigerator, Wi-Fi, and small coffee pot. Everything we needed. This morning the temp dropped into the 40s and the heat warmed up the room in no time. I loved it here and wish we could have booked a longer stay.

Loved this very quiet little place right on the water close to Acadia National Park. Our room in the hotel was nice, clean and modern. Couches could be updated a bit, otherwise great. All of the rooms and the cute cottages all face the water and have a lovely lawn in between. Loved the balcony. Mosquito bites show up later! Not far from one of the park entrances and a few minute's drive from Bar Harbor. Helpful owner lives on site. Get directions as it's off of Rt. 1 at the end of a road. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Room Tip: From any room, wake up early to see the amazing sunrise over the water, watch the fisherman quietly...

I stayed in the motel portion for 3 nights in room no. 24,at the lower level. corner side, which is a great location , we were a family of four person ,room size is great and the furniture is in a moderate shape,The room has a nice small balconey facing the water side ,which is great especialy in early moorning or at the night time . I would recomend installing partions between balconeys for guest privacy, as you could hear your neighbor guest while chatting. the in room fridge is small, the property located around 10 minutes driving to BarHarbor, so it is slightly a way from city attraction and resturant, but in general I liked this motel for comfort , location , scenery , relaxtation and price comparing with other hotels in BarHarbor

We have stayed here 3 times and will be returning in September. That should tell you something right there. Nicely situated, recently updated, quiet and clean. The price is more than fair. We have looked for other places in Bar Harbor but can't find anyplace better unless we paid about two and a half times the money. Go!

Room Tip: For 2 people I prefer the motel on want to be in an end room on the top floor or one of the cottages...

We stayed in the motel portion - I think it was number 25. This was a spacious room on the second floor at the end of the building. There was almost too much room for just the two of us!
The room included a small fridge, a good wifi connection, a comfortable armchair, a loveseat, a desk and a coffeemaker. There were 2 entrances to our room. The sliding door to the shared balcony let in a lot of light. The view was wonderful. Parking was easy although it's not right at the doorstep.

We could hear the people in the next unit at times.

Good choice for a motel outside of Bar Harbor. It is off the highway on a secluded road.

We have stayed at Edgewater each summer for several years. It's always been nice, but
this year we were pleasantly surprised to see that the owners have completely renovated
the rooms and updated them to being a little more modern. They did a beautiful job and
everything is new and nice, including a big flat screen TV.
There is a lovely deck to sit on and watch the water and boats. It is set back from
the main road so is quiet and peaceful.
The owners are friendly and accommodating. Beds are comfortable, and the
shower is wonderfully strong and plenty of hot water.
Close enough to Bar Harbor and Acadia Park to make it easy to leave the comfort of
this lovely place and experience the excitement of the town and park. But always a
pleasure to get "back home" to our little room with it's great sitting deck. We just love it!
