“Nice cabins, but bed bugs???”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 October 2013

In August 2013, my wife and I stayed in Cottage #2 for one night. Upon arrival we felt very welcome, and were quickly accommodated.

After a night of sleeping on the somewhat hard / noisy mattress, I woke up the next morning with my legs covered with bites, and red blotchy areas. I had slept on top of the covers for part of the night and was bit many, many, many times. We left the property around 9am that morning to go for Breakfast / touring. When we went back to the office to leave the key and talk to management about my this situation, ironically there was a pest control company on site spraying.

We had to purchase medication and ointments at a drug store. There was no compensation for my situation and inconvenience and "management refused to accept responsibility" for this incident. Would we stay there again, probably NOT!

First off we will just state that Eden Village does not have bed bugs...but of course the review is out there for everyone to see - so who will you believe? What it boiled down to is that these folks wanted a free stay. Had we compensated them for their complaint they said they wouldn't write anything about us. Well, as you can see we didn't compensate them because there is and was no issue (knowing we would get a negative review). There were 2 people sleeping in the bed but only one got bit? Did not know bed bugs discriminated. And yes, our Orkin guy was here on that very same day to do his normal monthly pest control - he's here every month so we can be proactive in keeping the pests at bay (spiders, wasps - whatever is "in season" at the time). He even went in after the complaint to inspect and found NOTHING in the way of bugs. Maybe we spent too much time in the great Maine outdoors without bug spray on during an intense mosquito season? Anyone reading this can decide for themselves We are happy to provide the reports from Orkin to anyone at anytime if you have questions or concerns. We aren't a property that will be bullied into giving folks their money back.

There is a motel and small cottages. Cottages looked very cute, but unfortunately we had booked a room in a motel, so I did not get to see one inside. Motel was in a very beautiful environment and we even had a back porch. Room was clean, but decoration is a bit worn out already.
Staff was friendly and helpful and motel was easy to find and had plenty of parking spaces.

really enjoyed staying here. stayed in a cottage, price was reasonable, rooms were roomy. Kitchen small but able to make do. Carol the manager was friendly and helpful. Traveling lobster was half mile up road and bought steamed ones and took back to cottage great deal. close to the park and cadiallic mountain for sun rise. Pond with ducks. Even though it was close to road it was very quiet. would stay here again.

We had planned to camp in Bar Harbor but waited too long to book...so I had to find a hotel/motel instead. I found Eden Village in an Internet search. The price was comparable to a stay in a camping cabin. We booked 2 motel rooms rather than their adorable housekeeping cottages- (maybe next time!)
The rooms were clean, comfy and very clean. There is a deck off of the back and we were able to grill - there are grills provided but we brought our own. The rooms also have a fridge, microwave and a Keurig coffee maker- very handy!
The grounds are nicely kept with a small pond and playset.
The staff is so pleasant and very helpful- we got quite a few restaurant recommendations when we checked in.
I will certainly keep Eden Village in mind if I return to Bar Harbor and will recommend it to anyone planning a trip!

A nice change from motel chains. Nice view of a pond and a large porch and chairs. We didn't use the kitchen, but it had everything needed including dishes, pots and pans, etc. Our room was comfortable, not fancy, but well maintained and it had everything we needed. We had just come into town, it was late in the afternoon so we decided to look for rooms before we got further into Bar Harbor as we thought we might have difficulty finding what we wanted. This was the perfect place and the room rate was very reasonable. Office staff were most friendly and helpful with suggestions for dinner and Bar Harbor points of interest.

Room Tip: We loved the cottages

Several small detached cottages and a motel type main facility. Our room had a kitchenette with fridge, stove, sink and micro-wave. Very functional, lots of utensils, plates, glasses, mugs.
The motel has a deck the full length with picnic tables for each room. No privacy for dining but very nice looking out on a meadow. Family owned and operated.

Just a few miles from the Hulls Cove park entrance.

Room Tip: Some rooms don't have kitchens, ask if you want one.

We (a group of 6), visited Maine during the last long weekend & stayed at this cottage near Bar Harbour. It was an amazing experience as our cottage was just adjacent to a pond with an amazing backdrop of greenery. The cottage was sufficient for the 6 of us, beds neatly made (2 bedrooms), one bathroom (no bathtub, but only a shower since the area is small), kitchen with fridge, burner, and necessary utensils. Also there were 2 TVs, one in the hall and another in a bedroom. We enjoyed the misty morning walks around the pond, seeing the ducks & enjoyed the cool breeze. Also the location is very accessible to all the major attractions like Acadia National Park, Bar Harbour, Acadia Air Tours airport, etc. Overall this place is a wonderful choice for a vacation in Maine! Thank you for the great stay!

We enjoyed having you all here with us! So glad you enjoyed your stay. Our largest cottage is certainly one of the popular ones due to its size. We hope you will visit us again soon and we truly appreciate your review! Thank you!
