The hotel is located just 1.3 miles from the Hulls Cove Visitor Center to Acadia National Park and just 1 mile from downtown. The room was clean and the view from our balcony was spectacular. The complimentary breakfast was very good, hot food items, fresh fruit and an assortment of pastry. The rooms also have a microwave and mid size fridge.

Room Tip: 3rd floor of the main building offers spectacular views.

Spectacular view. Comfortable and spacious room...fully equipped. We watched the sunrise each morning over the water. Many birds to hear and watch right from our balcony. The staff was incredibly helpful. We were 2 couples with separate reservations. When we arrived, we asked for rooms together and with NO problem at all, our request was granted. THANK YOU very much. We also requested an extended checkout time and with NO problem, it was granted. The 'cleaning lady' was wonderful. WE enjoyed our stay very much and we will return. Thank you for everything!

At the last minute we booked a family weekend at Bar Harbor, ME with our 2 girls, and chose Atlantic Oceanside Hotel initially because of their indoor AND outdoor pools (the weatherman was calling for a chance of rain).

It was our first family trip to Bar Harbor (having last been there in Sept 2011 on our honeymoon) and we couldn't have been happier with the accommodations.

We've stayed in some nice hotels along the New England coastline over the years, and this was one of my favourites when you consider cost + quality. I've paid well over double the rates for less of a room.

It's a large property but easy to navigate, and my only 2 suggestions would be very small:

1. With a large vehicle sometimes your parking spot would be tricky as our building required a sharp left over a little hill to park. With our smaller SUV it was no problem however.

2. A vending machine closer to our room (6202, in one of the buildings on the water) so we didn't have to walk back to the main building.

The Front Desk staff were very welcoming, and we were liked hearing tales from one of the older gentlemen, Wade, in the breakfast room each morning. It does so much to brighten the start of your day to speak with someone like Wade who knows the area and is happy to share his stories.

We can't wait for our next trip to Bar Harbor, maybe this summer!

Room Tip: There is a main entrance that you would drive into first, but it's quicker to use the second ent...

I had never stayed in this hotel before so I didn't know what to expect. I loved it. I walked thru the main door and heard laughing from behind the desk and that is always a good sign. Everyone was nice and friendly, oh yes and helpful. I loved my room so neat, clean, and the view was awesome. I ate in the hotel's restaurant and it too was clean and had a lovely view. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, if you are used to 5 star service they come pretty close, if you want to kick off your shoes and jump in the pool there is that too. It's an everyone's hotel.

Room Tip: tell them you want a room in the newer part of the hotel and on the 4th floor. Simply lovely.

After an unhappy night at another lodging in Bar Harbor, we just walked into the reception of the hotel. A very courteous young woman took our immediate reservation. We got two rooms in the newly renovated building, with a fantastic ocean view. It was much too cold for us to sit on the balcony but we took some great pictures. The rooms were great, the beds good, the breakfast enjoyable.

Room Tip: Take the newly renovated rooms, its worth the money. All rooms have the ocean view.

We have stayed here before and it is always a great stay. Location is right on the water and far enough away from downtown so you don't feel crowded. Breakfast was good as being part of the room. Our ocean view was great. We took the boat tour right off their dock. We will be going again...

We had booked this hotel form the internet and from the moment we arrived we were delighted so much so we booked in for an additional night. We had a room with a Sea view which was extremely comfortable and spacious. The view form our balcony was superb but boy watch a sunset from it worth staying up for ( I woke up because of time-zone difference).

The staff were extremely attentive and helpful and gave us some great recommendations for food and attractions in Bar Harbor. I highly recommend this hotel as a base to explore the area.

Incidentally we had a very slight issue with billing which we noticed on our return to Ireland and one email later the issue was resolved excellent customer service. We look forward to staying again some time in the future

Room Tip: Chose a sea view room
