Nice property, substandard cleanliness. Live bug in bedroom and dark hairs on clean towels. Breakfast was good. Coffee was awful. View was nice when not too foggy, except of defunct pier. Lacks in parking space availabilty, even when traveling in off-peak season.

Room Tip: Views from upper floors are best.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff were really friendly and went above and beyond (example carrying my breakfast tray for me when I was struggling with a non cooperative toddler, or the housekeeper noticing there were 5 of us and leaving 5 towels.) Room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was the best we've ever had in a hotel. We also ate at the restaurant one night which was also very good. Our only complaint was that the door let a lot of light in which made it hard to sleep since sunrise was at 4:30.

We attended a costume banquet with about 125 other Corvette enthusiasts and it was a great evening. Dinner (buffet) was very good and all in all a very well organized event. Waitstaff and bartenders were all in service with a smile zone! Looking forward to a return trip.

We had an ocean front room. The view is really wonderful. Our room was simply adequate. It is an older hotel that has been renovated, but not the best renovation. Beds were okay.
I wish I had read more reviews about the road detour out front. I reserved this room because it was close to the park entrance. Well, not this summer. Traffic out front is one way in to Bar Harbor for the summer. That means it's about a 10-15 minute drive to go all the way around the detour to get back to the park entrance or hotel.
My biggest complaint about the room is the lack of black out drapes over the glass door pane. The patio door facing the water has mini-blinds. But, the sun comes up at 4:45 AM in June in Bar Harbor. Our room at 4:45 am was lit up like broad daylight. Ouch. I tried hanging a towel over the door, but that was only a little helpful. A simple black out roller shade would have made a world of difference.
Breakfast at the Bistro was good (not great), and sitting outside on the patio was lovely. We actually did have dinner at the Bistro, which had just re-opened. Food was good and the waiter was really nice.
If we get the chance to go back, I would be more inclined to stay in town to be able to walk to restaurants.

Sandpaper sheets is the start of the review. The room is so basic for the exorbitant price we paid for the room. The word “bar Harbor “ is the only reason they can gouge you. Please save your money and drive outside of bar Harbour.
