This hotel was perfect, immaculately clean, comforatble, fantastic Continental breakfast each morning and walkable to everything! The only drawback was the WiFi access. There were 4 or more connections but none worked very well and the connection kept dropping. We relayed our concerns to the staff multiple times but nothing improved. Other than that, it was the perfect place to stay in Bar Harbor.

This is a lovely hotel that is walking distance from everything in Bar Harbor and only a short drive to Acadia National Park. In 15 minutes you can be on some of the most amazing hiking trails in Acadia or relaxing at Sand Beach. Then come back to the hotel to clean up and walk a few short blocks into the heart of Bar Harbor. I wouldn't do it any other way.

We stayed in June, before high season, So the restaurants were busy but not overly so, and the Park was not overrun with crowds.

The hotel had very friendly and helpful staff, a nice breakfast buffet, and fantastic location.

The Bar Harbor Grand Hotel combines comfort, cleanliness, attentiveness and incredible value for your money. I purchased a package which included all breakfasts, credit in the gift shop and two dinners for two at either the Terrace Grill or the Reading Room. The dinners were unbelivable, the room was so nice, spacious, and clean, and the staff here at the hotel could not have been more informative and helpful. This is a great hotel for families. The hotel sits at one end of Main Street and is a slow, meandering walk to the other end of Main Street (harbor). At most, at a slow stroll, it's a ten minute walk. Great location, great value. I'd stay here again in a second.

Visited the hotel and have to say that the hotel and staff were wonderful. The hotel was very clean and had all of the things that we were looking for. Only got to stay one night, but would definitely make a special trip back here for a longer period of time. Couldn't have asked for more friendly and helpful staff. Would love to bring my whole family back here sometime soon.

I'm a chain hotel kind of girl. Marriott is my go-to chain because I'm neurotically germ-phobic, but there are no Marriotts in Bar Harbor or the immediate vicinity. After reading all the reviews here on TripAdvisor, I settled on the Bar Harbor Grand.

We purchased the "Great Escape" package, which included a room with two queen beds, continental breakfast each morning, free parking, free WiFi, dinner vouchers for The Reading Room or a lobster bake, a 2 hour sailboat cruise, and a $20 gift voucher for the hotel gift shop. With additional charges for our 7 year-old daughter, it came out to just over $500 for two days.

The location is perfect, as long as you don't mind not having a waterfront view. This hotel is more in the middle of things. It's obviously an older building that has been recently renovated. You can walk to all the shopping, restaurants, and waterfront areas.

The hotel is IMMACULATELY clean. When I say there was not a speck of dust in our room, I mean it. And they do my favorite thing -- NO CHEESY COMFORTERS. They have bleached white linens on the beds, which is a germaphobe's dream come true. There was some minor staining on the carpeting and the walls had some very obvious touch-up painted areas, but aside from that the room was tastefully decorated and never gave me that icky hotel-room feeling. I walked barefoot in the room, and I do not EVER do that!

Each room has its own temperature control, with separate heaters in the bathroom. You won't appreciate this until you see how much the temperature can vary in Maine in the course of one day.

My one complaint regarding the comfort of the room is that the mattress was like a rock. But I'm used to sleeping on a tempurpedic mattress, so it may have been the contrast that made it bad for me. My husband found it perfectly comfortable.

The people at the hotel were all very helpful and attentive without being annoying. The continental breakfast is the usual fare -- cereals, toast, muffins, bagels, boiled eggs, fruits, etc... with great coffees and teas. Very clean breakfast area with plenty of seating.

If you do get the package deal, keep in mind that the Reading Room is SUPER foofy. Jeans are frowned upon, and most people there are dressed to the nines. There is the option of doing the lobster bake instead, and that is much more laid back. Either way, the restaurant is absolutely wonderful.

The package deal also included a trip aboard the Margaret Todd, which doesn't come across as one of the most exciting attractions, but we truly enjoyed it. The crew was fantastic, and it was both relaxing and exhilarating. Bring something VERY warm to wear, as it gets chilly and windy once you get out into the water.

Overall, I was very impressed with the Bar Harbor Grand.
