We rented an airstream for the weekend. Totally loved the experience. The setting was very private and we enjoyed the sunset. The site is very well maintained and very helpful staff. The pancake breakfast was cherry on top. I will most certainly go back!

Room Tip: Anything by the water for beautiful sunset views

Typically we avoid KOA "camping" but wanted 4 night's lodging with nature views and privacy. The Oceanside Campground's 5 cabins (801-805) offered a rather private setting away from the field of RV campers. We watched sunsets and low tide daily from our windows, screened porch, or fire pit. The cabin was clean and well kept with flat screen tv, microwave, mini fridge, and bathroom. We had a problem with the AC working the first day but the staff fixed it right away the next morning. The only downside to the cabin was the hot water capacity which allowed only 1 shower, 10 min. at a time, without totally running out of hot water. We should have talked to staff to see if this was typical.

The general manager, Jeff Goins, was fabulous. He hosts a caring staff, well-kept property, and wonderful all you eat pancake breakfast. We did take advantage of the nightly lobster dinner boil which is hosted on the KOA property but given by an outside local fisherman. I can only say that it was a unique experience tearing a whole lobster apart with my bare hands; the experience was definitely better than the dinner.

Room Tip: Choose an oceanside cabin (801-801) for a quiet stay with grand ocean views.

Our family (14) recently spent a weekend together, staying in 4 of the cabins, 2 of which were right on the water. We found the cabins to be clean, comfortable, fairly well furnished, and they met our needs for space. It was a good alternative to hotels as we generally like camping and the outdoors. Staff at the campground were friendly and helpful, as was everyone we met there. The campground itself is located very close to the main drag into town. Sitting around our campfire in the evening would have been a lot more enjoyable without the noise and lights of passing traffic, but for the location, it was okay. We weren't really staying there for a camping adventure. The park and downtown were easy drives from the site. We had never stayed in a campground that had so many RV's in it---stacked right in, one upon the other. Some of the waterfront tentsites looked okay. We were very glad to have been in the cabins which offered a whole lot more privacy.

Room Tip: They offer a few different styles and sizes of cabins and those have different amenities (kitchen, e...

Pick a spot right on the water, it is way better than the field. The water is literally 10' from my windshield. The people here are really nice, namely Steve and Rachel. They made us feel right at home immediately and helped us get set up and comfortable. They even gave us a great dinner recommendation for the first night. 24 hour laundry, dog park, playground... everything you would expect. The kids were sad there wasn't a decent game room, but we didn't come to Maine for games. :)

Very nice camp ground, clean and very well maintained, the sunset at the edge of the camp is amazing. We were in the middle of the camp which was very crowded, other than that it was great. If we will be back in Bar Harbor, I would consider coming back, just make sure to reserve a spot on the water instead of the middle of the camp.
They serve breakfast and the proceeds go to none profit and they have a lobster stand where you can get a lobster dinner for $20.00 - what else can you ask for...

It was the the best camp ground I ever stay at. It was clean, there was plenty of things do, they train rides for the little kids, and the people are awesome. I love it there i wish there was a swimming pool at e Koa I stay at. But waking up ocean was awesome. I can't wait to back the next summer.

We stayed here from Aug 31 to Sept 4th, 2013. Great little cottage, perfect for 2 people. Enjoyed the firepit and bbq.
Our only complaint is the bed....... the mattress is very uncomfortable (borderline terrible), they could have spent a bit more. The view across the way, waterside was very nice, especially at sunset! We would go back.
