We ate at McKay's our first night in Bar Harbor. We all had the lobster roll- two hot and two cold. The cold rolls were better. While they were good, we had better lobster rolls later on our trip. We shared an order of sweet potato fries, and they were hot and tasty. They came with a horseradish sauce that was very good. I would definitely recommend them since the chips with the rolls were not that great. For dessert, we shared the sticky toffee pudding, which was out of this world good. The waiter could have been friendlier.

We always enjoy this restaurant. It has wonderful food and the atmosphere is lovely. You can dine inside or outside. This time we sat at the bar and I had the sweet potatoe fries and a salad that was yummy. My husband had meatloaf and he enjoyed it. It has a good wine list and the service was also good.

This place was recommended by some folks we met while walking the shore path earlier in the day. We found the service to be...overwhelmed. Which meant sitting too long while waiting for the next course and trying to get the server's attention. The drinks (cocktails) were not great, the food arrived partly cooled (barely warm on the outside, piping hot on the inside--obviously left sitting too long before being brought to our table), and the "farmstand salad" turned out to be caprese salad. Not sure why the creative title when caprese would have explained it much more accurately. For the price this was not worth the investment of time and effort.

Got the lobster carbonara. It was mostly pasta with very little lobster, and very over priced. The staff was very friendly though.

My favorite time here we were served a Maine halibut 5 inches thick (who knew that was possible) under charming outdoor string lit sky and a guitarist in the background. Service was also impeccable. It was a dream dining experience. Upon return, the halibut was-thin-like salmon, the other entrees non memorable.
The summer blueberry pie was exceptional. Each visit while in Maine I was on a quest for one as good as this.
Hard to not recommend the restaurant, but then again, I am not sure I will return again.
