I had the pleasure of spending last weekend at the Acadia Hotel. I could not have asked for a more pleasant located. It is in the center of town but my room (The Suite) was quiet and spacious. The hotel is beautifully maintained and the staff is friendly and knowledgable. I will return.

Room Tip: The suite has beautiful views of the mountains.

The pro's: this location is perfect and located one block off maine, right across from the town Greene and shuttle pick up to acadia. The staff is friendly and helpful. The house is quiet and reminded me of a b&b without the breakfast. Go to This Way cafe for breakfast (a 2 min walk and awesome food).
The cons- the room is tiny, barely big enough for the queen bed and practically no space to even open our suitcases with dated wallpaper. The bathroom was modernized but was dark. The wifi (although free) was spotty at best.

We stayed at the Acadia Hotel for three nights starting on June 28, 2014. The Acadia Hotel definitely has a great location. It's directly across from the town park and one block to the main drag. We had a king room which was on the second floor. There is no elevator. The room was very clean. My first concern was the lack of any dresser space to put clothes in or anyplace to put a suitcase. We came to find out that there were two of those metal suitcase racks but they were under the bed! I don't look under the beds in hotel rooms as a rule. I also noticed that our room was never cleaned after our arrival. Our bed was made every day and we got clean towels but the floor was never vacumned nor was the bathroom sink or toilet cleaned. I thought this a bit unusual considering the money they were getting for their rooms. But as I said, the location definitely made up for any of these inconveniences. The hotel has a huge front porch for sitting and relaxing as well as fresh lemonade in a big jug for your enjoyment. My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Acadia Hotel. It was quiet at night but we had the AC going which may have drowned out any street noise there may have been. We would definitely stay here again on our next visit to Bar Harbor. The hotel and the people we met there were very nice.

We just stayed at the hotel over the 4th of July. The hotel is small and friendly, super clean and very comfortable. There is always coffee and tea in the reception area and water on the beautiful front porch. It was our first stay in Bar Harbor, but it surely will not be our last. The staff was warm and friendly, and oh, did I mention the porch? Our next visit will surely include more time sitting out there. They pay close attention to details there, something always appreciated. It is nestled in the downtown area, convenient to the waterfront, Main St and all the bars, restaurants, coffee shops and lovely stores.

Room Tip: We loved being at the front of the house on the second floor. It was very quiet, and we had access...

The Acadia Hotel was a wonderful place to stay during our visit to Bar Harbor. Right away we were greeted by the friendly manager, which was shortly followed up by a warm welcome from the hotel's owner, Peter. The hotel is in a prime location downtown, with the adorable shops, restaurants, Village Green and the Abbé Museum within steps of the hotel. We stayed in a front room which had an amazingly comfortable queen sized bed, with crisp white linens and coverlet. The air conditioned room allowed us to sleep very comfortably. There is a porch on the second floor to sit out and enjoy the sites and sounds of the town, along with a wrap around porch on the first floor to enjoy the views as well. I highly recommend the Acadia Hotel for your visit to Bar Harbor and the surrounding Acadia National Park region!

A perfectly located place to stay, in the middle of town, but just off main st, right across from the village green, well situated but slightly removed from the hustle.
Parking in front or back eliminates any worry in a town challenged for parking spaces.
The Cadillac Suite offers a nice upgrade, with two large rooms, bath, and also a private deck with a view of Cadillac Mtn. Having stayed here several times the regular rooms at the hotel are also more than adequate and a great choice.
Jordan is the do it all guy, with a outstanding attitude, and great personality. He is just as likely to be at the desk or housekeeping or chatting with guests, all with the same good spirit and willingness to help.
There may be some minor clinks, but nothing to interfere with your overall experience, and certainly nothing worth actually complaining about. Come here sit on the porch, walk anywhere in town easily, the street in front goes directly to Acadia, it is certainly a good value in a great location.

Great location for Bar Harbor town, walkable bars and restaurants where many hotels are some way out and a drive away. This is motel style accommodation at a good price. Good staff who work hard at meeting your needs and really informative about local stuff. Breakfast next door is exceptional. Recommend you give it a go
