Our visit to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park was even better than we had expected and mainly attributed to our stay at the Inn at Bay Ledge. Our little cottage was so comfortable and matched the surroundings. Breakfast was served on the porch overlooking the Bay. Each day, Jeanie made a different breakfast entry which was served in addition to her fabulous homemade granola, fresh fruit and homemade muffins. All was served by Lucia while the owner, Jack, offered stories and tidbits about the area in which they have lived for 25 years. The Inn is 10 minutes outside of Bar Harbor, close enough to drive to yet away from the noise. On two of our three nights, we saw deer just down the road from the Inn. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and will definitely be back. Thank you Jack, Jeanie, Lucia and Pearly!

Nestling in the woods with ocean views and a private beach n the cove below, jack , jean, lucia and Pearl make us feel so welcome-not least to say their beautiful dog, who turns out to be a trained therapy dog who goes into hospitals to help patients recover. We liked this place so much that we stayed a third night. Our room had a private terrace and was extremely comfortable.a short drive into Bar Harbour with its bars and restaurants, Jack always ready to recommend places to go and will book them for you to avoid disappointment. Bar Harbor is a nice town but avoid if the cruise ships in town, I have never seen so many tee shirt shops in one place. A drive around the national park is a must , drive or hike up Cadallac mountain for the spectacular 360 views.also found a top mother museum on a back road, wonderful and recommended.

Could be? We have stayed at dozens of B&Bs and the Inn at Bay Ledge certainly rated at the top of our list. We were traveling by light aircraft and arrived a day early and Ellen went beyond the call of duty to change our schedule and accommodate our changes. The location was perfect... away from the hustle of downtown yet close enough to restaurants and the park to suit us fine. Owners Jack and Jean were engaging hosts, Pearl the B&B dog was a sweetheart and all of the staff were helpful, courteous, and friendly. Our room 8 had a wonderful view of the bay and was spotless. In fact, we found the grounds well tended and beautiful. After the usual big dinners in town each evening, the gourmet breakfasts were perfect. Elegant and well presented they were fine to start the day and the coffee was GREAT!! We had to leave a day early due to predicted bad weather but again Jack was accommodating to our changes. Thanks to everyone there for making our vacation one of the best!!!

Room Tip: Room 8 is perfect... book it!!

Beautiful views of Frenchmens Bay. Owners, Jack and Jennie could not have been more hospitable. Full of local information, and Jennie is a great breakfast cook. Peace and quiet in a comfortable room. Great place to stay, great house dog, Pearl, I want to live there. The whole staff was hospitable.

Room Tip: Room 9 has a great view.

I normally do not write reviews, but considering the price, I felt taken advantage of and wish there had been more honest reviews for this place.

I was excited to stay at this B&B because of the great reviews and the pictures on their website. I was extremely disappointed as soon as I checked in.

The grounds are not maintained as expected. The enclosed front porch seemed to be used for storage, and there is a hole with an old dresser in it in the front yard! The pool needed to be cleaned as was not heated.

We stayed in the Deer Cottage, which has NO ocean view, and the “private” porch is attached to the neighbors. The room was small, with no fridge and no TV. There is a window unit for AC, which is noisy and kept us up all night. The bathroom is tiny. The shower is so small you can barely turn around in it.

The average guest age was mid 60’s and there seemed to be no privacy in the main house. It was awkward to try to enjoy the pool or the porch because it seemed like guests and owners are watching you.

The breakfast was tiny. First, they let you choose from boxed cereal (Fruit loops/apple jacks), dyed hard-boiled eggs, and coffee/tea. Then the cook brings you the “entrée,” which consists of a muffin, a pop-over/mini quiche, and about ¼ cup of fruit. The muffins were delicious, but the rest was mediocre. Be prepared to go out for breakfast as soon as you finish eating at the B&B.

The cliff down to the beach was magnificent, probably the only redeeming aspect and Ellen was a sweetheart.

If I could do it again, I would stay in downtown Bar Harbor at a cheaper place that’s probably the same quality.

Room Tip: Stay elsewhere

Highly recommend this quaint B&B. Jack, Jeannie, Pearl, Lucia and Sheila are wonderful hosts, never mind that the breakfast is to die for. It is a great getaway and the location is perfect for those that do not want to be in the middle of all the action.

My husband and I were fortunate to rent the summer cottage at this fabulous inn. The cottage is darling with a lovely view and incredible comfort. It feels like home and we hate to pack up and leave tomorrow. Jack and Jeanie along with their staff have been very friendly, helpful and kind. You feel like family but are treated like royalty! We have experienced four breakfast which have all been presented very artistically and each dish has delighted our taste buds. The afternoon tea treats have also been outstanding and really hit the spot after a long day being a tourist. Everything about our stay has been delightful.
