We were 4 senior ladies that shared a suite on the top floor and loved it. Unfortunately the weather isn't the best in April so we didn't get a chance to walk around and enjoy the surroundings or sit on the lovely wicker furniture on the porch. The service and food were wonderful, the owner and staff friendly and we are hoping to return again when the weather is better so we can really see the beautiful countryside too.

Thank you ladies for your visit and your kind words. We are sorry we couldn't offer you better weather but those April showers are bringing May flowers. We hope to see you here again someday soon.

We stayed two nights (in two different rooms as we booked late for Columbus Day weekend). The atmosphere was very much of staying in a country house with friends. Breakfast was delicious and, after cycling and canoeing all day, the afternoon tea was very welcome. The first room, Arcadia Northeast, was in the newer building but still had real character. It was also very grand - with four poster, whirlpool bath, a chaise longue in front of the gas fire and enough floor space to host an aerobics class. Our second, cheaper room, in the main house was also lovely but had only a shower, not a bath. We didn't especially mind but this room had no tv (although there is a small shared lounge on the floor above) and I think this would be expected by some guests and could easily be provided

My husband and I spent two nights at he Manor House Inn recently and were extremely happy with our stay. The owners and staff all introduced themselves and made us feel so welcome. As Arcadia Park was closed (due to the gov't shutdown), Ken told us how to navigate around the area to get the best views possible in lieu of being in Arcadia. We were not disappointed. We stayed in the room Arcadia West. It was beautiful and clean and had a nice seating area. We really enjoyed the gas fireplace. This is probably the first place where I've actually been comfortable enough to take a Jacuzzi bath. It was wonderful and so relaxing. The daily breakfast was delicious and kept us going until dinner. We were able to enjoy the home-made goodies on our first day there...again, no complaints. We will be back. I recommend Manor House Inn 100%.

The Manor House Inn is a beautifully presented period hotel with very helpful staff. I booked early so that we could have the ground floor room in the main house to avoid the stairs. In spite of the fact it was adjacent to the front door we were not bothered by any noise.
When we checked in, the on duty inn keeper gave us a tour of the property and invited us to make ourselves at home - which we did, relaxing in the beautifully furnished parlour with the complimentary afternoon tea. Breakfast was a daily surprise as, in addition to the usual juices, cereals, fruit etc there was always one or two hot dishes and freshly baked goodies.
Our bedroom was not huge but big enough for a couple of easy chairs as well as the comfy bed. Bathroom was small but had everything we needed. No TV in the bedrooms but there is a TV in one of the loft rooms that guests are able to use but who needs to watch TV on holidays! For a bigger room, plus TV you could always book one of the garden cottages in the grounds. Wifi was complimentary and fast.
Location was excellent - far enough from the busy port area but really only a couple of blocks from everything you need in the township.
A number of the guests seemed to be return clientele and I'm not surprised. After a tiring day hiking and sight seeing it is very pleasant to return to such a comfortable and pleasant inn. Would definitely stay again if in Bar Harbor.

Room Tip: If you don't want to climb stairs ask for the ground floor room or book a garden cottage.

The Manor House is in a quiet location not many blocks from shopping and eating places. The house itself is beautiful, the hosts and other staff friendly and helpful. Our room (room 1) was on the second floor (a bit of a challenge for a 75 year old moving suitcases up a tight flight of stairs), The room had a short private hall with the bathroom on it, The room had two nice windows, and the bed slept well, but the room was a little cramped, not much room to place luggage and move around. We would stay there again but get a larger room downstairs or a cottage., ,

Room Tip: Know what you want, they have a good web site.
