Mark, the owner/host was friendly and responsive when I first contacted him with questions (a coworker had stayed there a few years before and highly recommended The Maples Inn) and throughout our stay. I was traveling with 2 friends so we took the 2 room suite and a single for 3 nights. The front porch with rockers and especially the massive jade tree, the convenient location, + breakfasts were lovely. You need to feel comfortable about stepping up into the high beds that we had. Bathrooms/showers are small but everything very clean. Mark was generous with bottled water and granola bars for our day trips (very much appreciated when biking around Eagle Lake and walking around Jordan Pond - excellent photo opportunities for strange mushrooms) and it was nice to have refrigerator storage for our wine and cheese.

The atmosphere was warm and welcoming! The Inn was spotlessly clean!
the friendlly and congenial attitude of the staff was most enjoyable!
The breakfasts were spectacular! We look forward to the possibility of returning next year.
I would certainly recommend this Inn to others who might be looking for a warm and welcoming place to stay while visiting the Bar Harbor area.

Room Tip: Bathrooms are rather small, but manageable.

Spent three nights here in August. Bar Harbor is busy but Acadia is lovely and well worth a visit. Mark was a great host, breakfast was good, if a bit fussy. The room (English Ivy) and bathroom were small, but clean, a/c worked well on the 3rd floor. Bed was a bit squeaky, but nice view over the tree tops and quiet...good location for walking into town and renting bicycles. Pleasant breezy porch, nice tea with cookies, fridge for wine. Overall a pleasant stay, reasonably priced for high season.

We stayed here for 2 nights. The location is walking distance to shops and resturants. But be aware of when the cruise ships come in as there is an upward of 3000+ people in the streets. Thank goodness we missed it by a week.
Our room was nice. We stayed in the red oak room. The bed is comfy, there is a private balcony nice decor. The bathroom is very small. I was abit uncomfortable getting ready in the morning.
Breakfast I did not care for. I like my all american breakfasts, not fancy frenchtoast with cottage cheese and blueberries, mixed together. I proberly would of like it all seperate, but that if just us. If you have any food restictions make sure you tell mark in advance.
Sitting on the front porch was nice. Mark came out and talked with us for awhile, that was nice. The Inn is on a quite street and worth it.

Room Tip: Comfortable but small bathroom
