“Very nice stay”
Reviewed 21 July 2013

We stayed here for one night in July 2013. The motel staff were very friendly. We requested a room in a quiet corner and that is exactly what we got. Parked the van directly in front of the room's front door, which made it so much easier to load and unload. Very clean and nicely equipped room with a small kitchenette. Nice clean bathroom. Very comfy beds. Newer quiet AC unit. The kids enjoyed the pool in the afternoon for a couple of hours. There was free coffee and tea with cookies in the lobby. It is 2 miles from the entrance to Acadia National park and 4 miles away from Bah Hahbah and the restaurants and shopping. We will definitely return here in the future. Highly recommend this place.

Thank you for highly recommending the BEST WESTERN Acadia Park Inn to potential guests. We take a great deal of pride in providing a clean, comfortable and safe environment for our guests. I am happy that you found time to enjoy the pool and had a fresh baked cookie or two and a beverage from the lobby. We are in a quiet, peaceful setting which can be a nice respite after touring the town and Acadia National Park. We hope that you are able to make a return visit soon. Jane

I wish to bestow my highest commendation on the staff at the Best Western Acadia Park Inn in Bar Harbor, Maine. They not only made our stay a warm and friendly experience - they truly saved our vacation. Manager Jane Koehling never has to worry about how her guest are being treated while she is away from the front desk, attending to the many duties of her position. Her fellow staff members take care of everyone who comes through the door just like family. I quite honestly have never encountered anything like it before, and I am a well-traveled individual.

My wife, Olga and I had just escaped from a rather poorly run Days Inn just a mile away. "If you like loud drunken Harley riders sitting outside your grossly undersized room that is swelteringly hot due to faulty air conditioning, then the Days Inn might be just what you are looking for." It was after 10:00 pm and we had no place to stay, but we were not going to remain captives of our previous jailers. So, we drove down the road until we saw the bright and friendly "Best Western" sign.

I was certain that they would not be able to accommodate us at such a late hour and during the Fourth of July holiday week, but I bravely walked in the front door to make the first of what I expected to be many ubiquitous inquiries in my search for shelter. I was met by Teenia Colby and Cassandra Guyette at the front desk. They could both see the look of desperation and anguish that clouded my face. When I asked if they had availabilities for the night, they both went to work to take care of my wife and I. They were very sympathetic to our previous experience and they offered us cookies and coffee to ease our pain while we waited. Half way through my cookie, Teenia told me that they had us set up in a wonderful room for the night, and that they would work on helping us arrange additional nights "in spite of the heavy holiday load."

We were originally only going to stay for three days, but we loved the staff - the hotel and the area so much that we actually extended our stay to six days. The "full breakfast" that the hotel provides is way above average thanks to Carole Continental. Sausage, omelets, waffles, coffee, tea, orange juice - and for desert - wonderful advice on what to do and see while you are a guest. Carole is a wonderful person and the perfect guide.

The hotel lobby is much more than just a place to conduct business. It is also a great place to sit and have some of the many different varieties of coffee that they have on hand for their guests. There is a warm atmosphere with plenty of literature on local activities, a TV and a fireplace for the winter months. You are just minutes from one of America's true jewels - "Acadia National Park." You will enjoy exploring the "Wonderland Trail" as much as we did, I am sure.

I also wish to make mention of several more staff members who were directly responsible for not only making our stay a wonderful experience, but who were also a big part of the reason that my wife and I extended our stay. Mary Bennoch, Brandon Cassidy and the unforgettable Joel Raymond are much more than employees. They are warm and friendly people who truly embody the spirit of hospitality in all they do. My wife and I can't wait to see all of our new friends again very soon. The entire staff of the Best Western Acadia Park Inn go out of their way to make you feel like more than just a guest - they make you feel like one of the family.

Dear Michael M
What a wonderful way to start the day! This is a spectacular review and we all thank you very, very much for taking precious time from your schedule to write it. I must say that it was Teenia and Cassandra’s genuine pleasure to assist you, especially when you arrived in such despair. (We are a rider friendly hotel and have never had such experiences with our Harley Davidson Riders as you encountered down the road. I am sure that that must have been an isolated incident.) Nevertheless, it was a delight to host you and your lovely wife here at the BEST WESTERN Acadia Park Inn. Teenia and Joel do seem capable of pulling rooms “out of thin air” and I am happy that she was able to do just that for you that night and the additional days. You mentioned that our lobby is not only for registration but also a great place to relax, have a home baked cookie , enjoy a beverage and maybe even share ideas and ventures with fellow guests and we agree with that wholeheartedly. It always pleases us to see it utilized in that fashion. This fall we will have that fireplace running for sure. We, as a whole, thank you very much for staying with us, allowing us to enhance what could have been a very poor experience for you in Bar Harbor. We certainly do look forward to your return. Warm Regards, Jane and Your new Best Western Family

Probably the most attentive and friendly staff I have ever experienced, they go out of there way to help you explore Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Remolded rooms and comfortable beds, big heated pool. Perfect for families.

We do have a lovely heated pool and it is rarely what one would call crowded. It is great to know that you and your family enjoyed your stay with us so much. That is our ultimate goal! Most of our rooms have been remodeled over the past three years and it is good to hear that you appreciate the upgrades. It is always a work in progress, as in the winter we undertake another project or two. The staff is happy to share information about the area, especially Acadia National Park. We are happy to have families stay with us, especially yours! Jane

2 miles from Acadia's Visitor Center, and 5 miles from the crowded streets of Bar Harbor. Quiet wooded setting, huge room, great breakfast, super clean, with a friendly, responsible staff. Tables on a large deck surrounding a pool made an enjoyable place for a dinner from the lobster pound close by. We'll definitely stay there next time!

Thank you for the wonderful review of our BEST WESTERN Acadia Park Inn. We are very happy to hear that you utilized the pool deck to enjoy your lobster dinner. It is handy having fresh boiled lobster right next door to us. Our location is in a very quiet, serene setting and we are glad that you found that to your liking. We are delighted that you will stay with us again. Jane

The staff was very accommodating and beyond friendly. There were cookies and coffee in the lobby until 9pm and the breakfast had one of the best selections I've seen. The rooms were up-to-date and the beds were spacious. There was even a heated outdoor pool. It is very evident that the property is well taken care of. I would highly recommend this motel.

Thank you for the perfect recommendation of our BEST WESTERN Acadia Park Inn. We are astounded when a few guests, now and then, protest about the lack of variety in our breakfast. It is very pleasing to hear from the majority who, like you, enjoyed it. We are constantly trying to make upgrades and listen to guests comments as to what we might do better or do more of for their satisfaction. We look forward to seeing your name on a future reservation list and a revisit.

We very much enjoyed our stay! Everyone went above and beyond to make us feel right at home. Coffee was always ready in the lobby along with yummy cookies in the afternoon. A very good (lots of choices) breakfast offered every morning. The staff, from the front desk to the cleaners, were so nice and friendly. The location was great. We look forward to our next visit. We would highly recommend this motel.

This property was a drive up motel type property one level. We don't usually stay in motels but not knowing the area we booked online and decided that Best Western would work. I thought the price was high for one night but being a triple AAA member you receive a discount. (Still seemed expensive for one night.) Having said that the property was well taken care of and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Our focus was Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. The motel was not located close to the park but not a far drive either. There were properties a little closer to the park and to the central part of Bar Harbor. The breakfast variety was good and the pool was clean and warm. (No hot tub.) Staff were friendly and helpful. The beds were comfortable and the sheets didn't smell like OLD hotel sheets. There is a good size mini fridge in the room to accommodate your snacks and drinks you may want to bring. We were in a non smoking room that was truly a non smoking room and pets are not allowed. Overall we were comfortable for the one night that we stayed.

Thank you for taking the time to review the BEST WESTERN Acadia Park Inn. We appreciate your comments and your business. Peak season in Bar Harbor does constitute higher rates than early spring or late fall. We have some great pre-season rates so plan for another visit next May and don’t forget that in late fall Mother Nature is dressed a great blaze of fall colors. We are two miles from the entrance to Acadia National Park and 5 miles from downtown Bar Harbor. Our property is entirely non-smoking however; we do allow smoking outside of the rooms at least 25 feet from any building or air vent. I am happy that our sheets smell fresh, that means our laundry company is doing its job well. We hope to see you again! Warmest regards, Jane
