This was our third annual trip to the Bar Harbor Inn and it was spectacular. Not only is this historic Inn on a wonderful point overlooking the best views in the area but the amenities, staff and service are exemplary. The everyday continental breakfast is as close to a full service table it is crazy and the Reading Room Restaurant is “white linen tablecloth top shelf for every meal too. I wait at least two if not three years to truthfully comment and this place and all their people are a “must see and stay” location in one of the nation’s neatest and most scenic/historic anywhere.

We've stayed at the Bar Harbor Inn on several occassions over the last 8 years - and hadn't visited in more than 3 years, so it was a pleasure to come back - nothing has changed, which depending on how you look at it is a good thing. The rooms are clean, neat and the beds are comfortable. It's not a luxorious as it could be, given the location, but there are more expensive places to stay and a new hotel that is being built right on the waterfront in town across from the Harborside Hotel. We like the BHI, for the friendly staff and the reliablility of the hotel. Great places to eat within walking distance: Cafe This Way - the lobster benedict was amazing!, McKay's is a bit down the Main Street, but definitely worth the extra 1-2 blocks walk; and some great "new" bars along Cottage Street that serve local craft beers on draft. Dont' forget to check out the Jordan Pond House for lunch after a day in the Park hiking. We were going to Acadia for years before trying this gem and now, we have to go at least once every trip - the popovers are devine! Ask for the blueberry jam - it's only available upon request now.

This is a very nice place to stay in Bar Harbor that is very relaxing in a beautiful setting right on the water. The price is higher than most hotels in Bar Harbor, but this can be expected.

The staff were great, the rooms are clean and quiet, and the parking is free and right on the grounds.

You are a 2 minute walk to Main St. and can drive to Acadia in 10 minutes. There is comlimentary coffee and tea in the lobby which was ver good, and very nice for early risers.

i would certainly stay here again!

Beautiful Inn and restaurant. We try to go every year. Must book several months in advance. Get the Ocean view. Clean and the grounds are kept well. This is not cheap but worth the expense. A must is a tour off the deck on the sail boat. Also the trolley tour through Arcadia.

Room Tip: Book Ocean front room a bit pricey but worth it with fireplace, balcony.
