What can I say we loved it here and were sorry to be staying only one night. The hotel has breathtaking views over the bay and we had a room that took advantage of this. The room was really comfortable with ajacuzzi bath and anice area to sit outside and enjoy that view. The pool area was good if a little busy and everything was provided from towels to sodas on ice, the hot tub was a little too hot though. We even helped ourselves to fresh lemonade and homebaked cookies in the lobby. Needless to say the children were sold. Very helpful reception staff printed off some whale watching info which we took advantage of. The jetty for this being on a 5 minute walk from the hotel. The included breakfast had a good selection of pastries, fruit and cereals and opened early enough for us to eat a hearty breakfast before our sea trip. Didn't eat in the main hotel restaurant but it had panoramic views over the bay too. We would definetly stay here again for longer, it was quiet,c omfortable, relaxing but just classy enough

The location is perfect for being able to walk everywhere in town. Short bike or car ride to Acadia National Park. Every staff member was extremely friendly and helpful. If you can do a harbor front room its worth the money to watch the boats, people, dogs, sunsets. I would choose harbor over ocean front due to more to look at. Our air conditioning did not work and had to be replaced (it was one of those crazy 90 degree heat waves!). They couldn't have been more accommodating by compensating us with some nice meals while it was repaired. The inn was booked so we couldn't change rooms and a new unit had to be installed thus we had 3 difficult nights but they made up for it without us having to ask or fuss. Bar Harbor is not the place for solitude but we found our deck very peaceful and scenic in the am and pm while we were there. The rooms are a bit worn but clean and functional. The real prize is the location, staff friendliness and the nightly lobster bakes. I would absolutely stay here again.

Acadia is an awesome place to hike, bike and generally get your fill of the outdoors, and this place was an awesome complement to a perfect place. The location was excellent. The food great. The people went out of their way to help you. The room was spacious and clean and the view of the harbor was outstanding. I have stayed at many resorts in the carribbean, hawaii and other parts of the US and this place was perfect for me. Not too pretentious and located next to a hiker and bikers playground. My only complaint was about Acadia not have ing singletrack MTB trails. The Carriage road thing was very boring after the first hour or two. The weight room has been open for two years and hardly looked as if anyone used it. The staff opened it every morning before the 9:00 scheduled time so I could lift and then get up to Cadallic mtn summit for a ride. This place is first class!

We got married on 8/1/09 and purchased the five (5) night package at the hotel. I am 61 years old and have traveled to and stayed in lots of hotel/motel properties. The staff at the Bar Harbor Inn continually exceeded my expectations for what hospitality stands for. My description of their property would be "casual elegance". We will certainly be back on our first anniversary.

Location-Location-Location!!! We had a high quality large room with 2 Queens and a private balcony overlooking a lovely picturesque grassy knoll above Frenchman's Bay with a view an Artist would die for. We could walk one block to the great shops and restauants for a short shopping spree on the spur of the moment! It is the perfect location.
The staff made us feel like honored guests with utmost care and warmth. I felt very much at home. Free accessible parking!!!
