Fifth time staying here.

Was very pleased to find a sturdy towel bar/grab rail had been installed which enhanced the pleasure of the lovely big bathtub.

Wifi seemed better than last time, much more reliable.

The selection of free cookies in the main lobby seems less extensive than past years, but a nice bonus anyway.

Still miss the couch and coffee table of yore. Those bucket chairs may look snazzy but they really aren't very comfortable. How about a couple of nice recliners next time of revamping - or the couch back again?

Otherwise clean, comfortable, wonderful view, etc. Pricey!

We have stayed at the Inn before and it never disappoints. We live in Maine and would only consider the Inn when we visit Bar Harbor. The highlight of this trip was being served by "Jessica" in the Reading Room for lunch yesterday. Due to the cool blustery weather - The Terrace Grill was closed for the day and we were delighted to find the operation had moved into the Reading Room. From the moment we arrived at the Inn--we were treated warmly. ....first by the Doorman/Bellman/Valet Attendant and then by the Hostess in the reading Room (also Jessica's Mom). Jessica was the icing on the delicious cake. She made excellent recommendations. The food and wine were superb. The crab cakes were fabulous. The Waterfront in Camden has always been famous for their delicious crab cakes and they have been usurped by the Inn. Our compliments to the Chef. This was an anniversary celebration we will never forget. Kudos to the owners & manager of the fabled Inn. My husband is a kindly curmudgeon and I am delighted to report he enjoyed the food, ambiance, and Jessica's genuinely warm customer service and menu knowledge.

Our reservation was an Autumn Package Deal with 2 nights in a beautiful room with a perfect view of the harbor, 2 breakfasts and one evening meal for 2 in the Reading Room (wonderful meals), 1 clambake on the terrace, and one option for a bus tour of Acadia, 2 bicycle rentals or a 2-hour harbor cruise on the Margaret Todd. Everything was memorable and made for a perfect anniversary trip. We liked the inn so much that we stayed an extra night. The only let down was the harbor cruise as we really didn't go anywhere, just floated for 2 hours. We found that renting the convertible was a perfect way to see Acadia National Park and the weather was very cooperative.

We have stayed at the Inn many times and it never ceases to amaze us that the staff never seems to change. We have never met more professional, accomodating and friendly people who truly seem to care about their jobs and the people who stay here.
This facility has something for everyone and it's proximity to the downtown area and waterfront make it exceptionally appealing as we rarely had to drive anywhere.

We arrived late (after 9pm) our first night, but were still welcomed into the restaurant and had a fabulous meal. Our room was not one of those with a view (we elected to save some money as we didn't plan to spend much time in the room - our purpose was touring the fall colours and visiting Acadia), but there were still views aplenty from the very well maintained grounds, the breakfast area, and the reading room restaurant.

Location was well placed in the heart of Bar Harbor, and extremely convenient to Acadia national park. We spent one afternoon walking through Bar Harbor and could easily return to the Hotel to drop off packages and go out again. The room itself was clean and reasonably well-maintained; the shower/tub seemed new and the fixtures and carpet recently replaced. Service was very friendly, and we spent some quiet time with the free hot cider in the spacious lobby near a large fireplace and comfortable furnishings.

Overall, we'd stay here again if we were going to return to the area, and Acadia is a strong reason to do so!

I stayed at the Bar Harbor Inn over the Columbus Day holiday with my sister. I did plenty of research so I knew the views were going to be great. I was not disappointed. We signed up for the Autumn Gold package and it was perfect. I would definitely do a package again when I return with my husband. It seemed like every meal was included.
The service was friendly and efficient. The waitstaff at the Reading Room was especially charming. The food was fine but with that view, I was more forgiving.
The rooms were a bit dated but were kept clean and the housekeeping staff was very nice. I didn't go to Bar Harbor to sit in the room but I do appreciate a more updated look.
I had a facial at the Spa and while it began a bit late, it was very nice. However, the gym was sparce at best.
Overall, I would return again and recommend it to friends. In fact, I hope to go back in the spring.

We supposedly got the last room at this hotel, and grabbed it for fear that the others would be booked as well. We paid $310.00 for the one night, so were looking forward to going to our elegant, clean room for the night, especially since it was raining and we would most likely be spending a lot of time in the room. I was shocked when I entered the room. The carpet was disgustingly dirty, and all the decor was very outdated. The toilet and bathtub were mauve, something definitely from the 70s or 80s. The view was spectacular, so if you do not mind staying in an over-priced mediocre room with a terrific view, this is the place for you. I, however, would never stay here again.
