Llangolan Inn & Cottages

We stayed 4 nights with our dog and it was simply great.
That's true that's little bit noisy in the morning but we bring some ear plugs and it does the job.
For those who bring their dog with them, it's a perfect place because there's a quiet road just beside the cottage and takes you, in 10 minutes, to a quiet seashore where your dog can play.

My husband and I stayed here off season (which I believe starts after Sept. 5). I felt it was a bargain - where else can stay in a cottage in a "touristy type area" for under $500 for an entire week?! Yeah, it isn't exactly the the Four Seasons.....but, I assume the people who are truly interested in biking, hiking and exploring the nature and wildlife of Acadia could care less if they find a chocolate propped on their pillow every night.
The cottage itself was very clean and stocked with everything you need - good place to stay with the kiddies, too. Our cottage had a small fridge and stove, "adult" bed was cozy enough....and there was even another, smaller bed. Bathroom was a bit small but, who cares! You wanna spend time sitting in a bath all day or do you want to explore the natural wonders this area has to offer?
Overall, we were very happy. It was in a safe location - centrally located to the park and other "good stuff." Now that I think about it, I think my husband ate lobster roll every night. He sure isn't talented enough to cook such a dish, so I suppose you don't even really need the cabin's kitchenette. Just pick up food from one of the many, great establishments nearby.
We also took a walk one night (maybe about a mile at most) and ended up at a public beach not too far from the inn. Nice little find.
So, overall, I'd stay again in a heartbeat.....ESPECIALLY off season!! You can get an amazing deal and Acadia and the surrounding attractions are a lot less crowded. Weather is still gorgeous in September, too. So much natural beauty to bask in. Bring the kayaks, canoes, the camera's, the mountain bikes, sneakers......and, yeah - why not bring the kids, too! :) GOOD FUN FOR EVERYONE!!!
PS - there is no guest pool here

We had a a great trip to Mount Desert Island/Bar Harbor/Acadia NP area. Peter and Kathy are personable hosts, and will hang out and chat if you'd like, or give you privacy as well. They provide trash pick-up and towel exchange daily, but you make your own bed...not a big deal. The cottages are charming. The kitchenette had anything you'd need: small fridge, microwave, stovetop burners, pots/pans and dishes. Linens and decor are up to date and the beds are comfy. Some of the cottages have A.C., (ours did not), however, the temp was fine despite mid-80 degrees August days. We left the windows open all nights and did not have any issues w/ traffic noise from Highway 3. In fact, the location was a great advantage for us as the Island Explorer bus goes back the road beside the Inn. It was ideal to catch the bus into town and not have to worry about parking or traffic. We enjoyed relaxing outside in the yard with friends. We were in the room very little except for in the evening, so it would have been a waste to spend lots of money for lodging. I would highly recommend Llangolan Inn for a pleasant, affordable, laid-back vacation.

We stayed at Llangolan for a week while on Bar Habor Island in MAINE. Llangolan is only a few minutes from the town of Bar Harbor. The cabin is small, but adequate for 2 people (a third could sleep on the futon). Some of the cabins have kitchenettes, but we stayed in #5- it had only a microwave, coffee maker, bar fridge, and toaster oven. Paper plates/cups and plastic cutlery were included. There was one packet of coffee, and they don't replace it each day, so we had to buy our own.

Very quiet location though- good value for the money.

We stayed in one of the cottages for four nights during our four week New England trip. It would be a good base for trips to acadia np if it was not located right next to highway 3 (trucks, cars, shuttle busses).

We showed up in pouring rain. The gentleman at counter was friendly and very helpful. We had our chihuaha with us up from connectict we desperately needed a room. So many places were no vacancy or had no queen or full bed. Had a nice nite stayed dry in a great location perfect nite of cottage fun. The showers have small hot water tank so make sure you leave enough hot water for your spouse lol. I would recommend the stay. Affordable and accomodating with lots of parking and grass for pets. Plus the cottage Is all yours. The rule is though no pets in main house which we definitely understood. Go have fun stay a mite in bar harbor food is great there and you can't beat Acadia!
