Unless, you like tatoos and you're not into expecting cleanliness. It's what? Why does this place even have to exist? Oh, art studio's. Oh, soon to close coffee shops 10 blocks apart. Don't go if you're life is normal in the sense that you live in a nice, clean, safe neighborhood. There's nothing in this area, it's seedy, always has been, and it's unsafe.

The art museum is a must see, I'm not really into art,but this place took my breath away,it was awesome,The Yerba Buena Gardens, beside the Moscone Center,Is great place to just sit and relax on a fine sunny day,
Unless there was something going on in the Moscone Center, you may not get in,and it would be empty, but just to look around at the area it commands, I think it is at least four blocks in one direction, I know how big it is as I had blisters on my feet, from walking around the place when working there, some of the guys had bicycles, to get around, I have never been in the new building
Apart from a convention center it's other real purpose is an evacuation place for people to gather in, in the event of a disaster, as in major earthquake

SOMA Means South of Market, and so the place has been transformed since the early seventies before the Yerba Buena Gardens and Moscone Center was built. Now the SFMOMA is there, flanked by the W Hotel and the St. Regis. Gourmet Restaurants abound as well, and Galleries to boot! There is the occasional homeless person, especially up near South Park, but this City is pretty tollerent, and for the most part they re harmless.
