Great place to wander and explore. Always changing with new restaurants. Exciting and dynamic. Great restaurants and museums. A highlight on any trip to SF.

Thank Tom K

Our favorite bicycle shop is located here, and it's always interesting going down here. The neighborhood is full of street people, many who are on drugs, and many who like to heckle. We've never had issues here, and have been told the street people are just annoying but not aggressive or violent. That aside, I do not show jewelry or expensive clothes when I go here. I usually wear jeans, with a sweater and/or jacket, and use a zipped purse with a strap long enough to put over my shoulder and under one arm to hold it securely across my body (standard city advice). For guys, put your wallets in a jacket pocket instead of your back pocket. Also stay out of crowds and keep your wits about you. There are some fun places to eat near here, and the area is gentrifying. I don't like being down here after dark!

Cool foodie places. Music, Art, Hangouts. Hip clubs. I like very much the ambience here. Might be better to walk though as parking may be tough.

good to see but not a must. I like the yerba buena convention center near by, coffee shop and small restaurants in the area.

This area really doesn't have much going for it except the ball park and the Yerba Buena Convention Center, Metreon and Museum of Modern Art. You come here for specific sites but not to walk around.
