“True Tourist Area”
Reviewed 6 June 2014

I only go to Fisherman's Wharf area to eat at Scoma's. There are too many people wandering around and the shops are cheesy. Many better places to spend your time in this wonderful city.

“Good place to Start”
Reviewed 6 June 2014

The place is nice and you have a lot of food options around but I personally prefer Pier 39. This place really gets crowded so everything its a little more expensive than other places around so take a walk, take some pictures and try to save your shopping for later.

The best thing to do here in my opinion is to rent your bikes to move around. From here its easy to go to the Golden Gate and to move around the bay. Also, dont get scam with the tour seller around this place! They are way more expensive than any other place!

“Lived up to expectations”
Reviewed 6 June 2014

We expected this to be very touristy and this proved to be the case. This isn't meant to be a negative; the Wharf and the adjacent waterfront area have to be on your list of “must visits” if in San Francisco. Good to wander around, visit some of the historic ships moored at the various piers and there are plenty of places to eat. There are a large number of hotels in the area and the temptation is to stay here for your San Francisco visit. However, the area is limited on things to do and we would recommend staying around Union Square and travelling to the Wharf by cable car or bus. If you are up to it it is also a pleasant walk from Union Square, but be aware of the hills!

“Try this attraction”
Reviewed 6 June 2014

This is one of the essential tourist attractions in San Francisco. However, it's a bit more than that. There are some really great places to eat, drink and just relax with some people watching. I lived in the South Bay for years and still enjoyed a visit to this attraction. Note: If you visit in the Northern summer season, you will need some warm clothing as the wind off the cold Pacific water makes it quite chilly.

“The Place to be in San Francisco”
Reviewed 5 June 2014

This is the place to be when you are in San Francisco. There are lots and lots of food options, lots and lots of attractions, lots and lots of shops.

Give yourself a good half to full day and take your own sweet time walking around the entire place. You will love and enjoy every bit of it.

Dont forget to pay a visit to the sea lions. They are just fabulous, and stink a bit.
