A sweet little hotel in a terrific location on the waterfront!! Great service, smiling people, a comfortable bed, and friendly suggestions from staff. Be prepared for a very tiny but well appointed room.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the Embarcadero

We stayed at Hotel Griffon for two nights while visiting San Francisco. We arrived a bit before check in and the hotel tried to get our rooms ready early, but in the end we weren't able to check in any earlier. The rooms were clean and had everything we needed, but were a bit small. We traveled with another couple and they did not have a closet in their room, which caused a bit of a problem with the small room sizes. The hotel was very helpful in watching our bags for the day when we checked out since we didn't leave until later that day.

Over all, the service was good, the rooms were clean and nice, and it was a pleasant stay.

Room Tip: Be sure to check if you have a closet.

After 4 day permanence i can say:
- High level service: Thanks to Etienne in the reception the service was perfect and any problem or need was resolved
- Position is perfect
- The room is nice nice.
- Very good relation Price/Quality: for San Francisco!
I will repeat!

Room Tip: Ask for the rooms with view !

We stayed at this hotel for our anniversary and had an absolutely wonderful experience! We were lucky and received an upgrade to a suite for the night. It was absolutely beautiful! The room was not ready when we arrived, however we got there about 20 minutes before check-in starts. The front desk staff was friendly and welcoming and we only had to wait about 15 minutes. Every staff member we came in contact with was polite and extremely helpful. We ordered room service for dinner and breakfast and the food was great! I accidently broke a wine glass in the room and alerted the front desk. They insisted it was no big deal and that I did not have to pay for it, which was so nice of them! They also sent housekeeping to the room immediately to ensure all broken glass was cleaned up. We will absolutely stay at this hotel again, and have recommended it to family members and friends. The free valet for hybrids was an extra plus!! The whole hotel was beautiful and comfortable. My husband and I agree this is the best hotel service and experience we have ever had! Can't wait to come back!

Room Tip: Suites are beautiful! Rooms along Stuart St. are quieter.

Amazing hotel, great staff, great service, great location. The most notable thing about the hotel is the staff. From check in to check out, all the staff were so friendly and kind. The front desk took time to find us a local barber shop in short notice (which was fantastic also). Etienne at the front desk was beyond helpful when we sought his advice for nightlife spots. He did not disappoint as we had a blast based on his recommendations. He even followed up the next night to see how our previous night went. Truly supersedes in customer service. Larry, the maintenance guy was awesome too. The location is prime. Beautiful view of the bay bridge, walking distance to AT&T Park, and Fisherman's Wharf (approx 30min). Perry's restaurant in the hotel is delicious. The ahi tuna tacos are a must. There's a Japanese restaurant next door, though we didn't try it because it was really packed so must be good. Next to that is a YMCA which hotel guests can get a day pass for $5 to use the facility (full gym, pool, etc). The hotel is close to the Bart stations and muni stops. The hotel and the room are modern with nice decor and the housekeeping staff was always friendly. I will definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel over and over again.

The staff and accommodations at the Hotel Griffon are phenomenal. There is a pervading spirit of kindness, respect, genuine concern for the guests, and relentless desire to make one's stay truly enjoyable and relaxing. I will continue to recommend the Griffon to everyone I know and meet who asks about a great place to stay in San Francisco. My congratulations to the staff for a terrific team effort. Thanks again for your constant thoughtfulness during our stay.

Boutique hotel with great staff, views, location and atmosphere. Room was comfortable with everything we needed and more. Lovely windows that could be opened with expansive view of the Bay bridges, bay and boats sailing through.Perry's bar downstairs, great Japanese next door and a block from the Ferry Building with it's fabulous food hall and restaurants. Cable cars, near by and ferries to Marin. Walking distance to shopping, North Beach and museums. Staff were helpful and discrete. Couldn't have been better.
