These places that you visit and know that you will come back and recommend for others. We stayed at the inn for 5 nights as part of a big trip we had in the US and it was defiantly the best place we stayed in during our trip. the service, the atmosphere, the calmness, the classic music in the main room, the great breakfast, the team, the a cozy welcoming feeling just made the whole experience so amazing. you just need to remember that its not a hotel, so maybe the room will be a bit smaller (although they have different rooms to offer), but it really gives you a good feeling of coming home, more then just staying in a cold usual boring place as a hotel.

Spent four nights at the inn and was made to feel welcome right from the start. Marty, Meghan & Lisa make you feel that you are at your own home they were so friendly and helpful. The rooms are very quaint and the added touch of fresh flowers and sweets added to the homey feeling.
Breakfast in the parlour was delicious every day. My husband particularly enjoyed the sherry and port that was on offer each night . Transport was convenient with bus out front and the train just a few blocks away. The Mission district has abundant mix of good places to eat within walking distance of the inn. Over all our time in San Francisco was made more enjoyable because of the Inn San Francisco. We highly recommend to those who look for the real San Francisco experience

Stayed for only one night, but will definitely return and highly recommended if you're looking to be truly treated well. Marty is a crack up, funny guy, and makes you feel at home as soon as you walk in the door. Liza is super sweet, and eager to please. As we were shown the property, our bags were taken to our room and waiting, very nice and refreshing after a long drive. It was exactly what I was looking for to enjoy an overnight with the wife in The City. Didn't partake in the Port or Sherry that was available in the evening, but the breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Looking forward to a return engagement where I can take more time to enjoy these folks. Only detractors are street parking is extremely scarce if you have your own vehicle, so try to reserve a garage space if you can, and parts of South Van Ness appear a bit weathered and unkempt. Most certainly not a reflection of this outstanding Inn, but don't be alarmed.

We selected the Inn primarily for its location near a family member. We knew its bedroom was likely to be smaller than at a nice hotel, and indeed it was. The Queen bed and other furniture consumed most of the floor space even before our luggage was put down. The mattress bulged in the middle but otherwise was comfortable. Nighttime noise level was average at best. The bathroom was large.

I have to praise the owner and staff for enthusiasm and friendliness. Everything here was visually attractive, from parlor to the lovely garden.

The breakfast was pretty good, with lots of fruit and breads. Hot food was limited to two quiche choices. Several newspapers were provided.

We booked a parking space in their garage across the street. It took a lot of maneuvering to fit into the space.

Excellent room and service. Staff are professional and helpful. Breakfast is delicious and there is plenty of food and variety. The interior is well kept and the gardens and rooftop make this Inn a one of kind experience. Thanks Marty, Lisa and Megan
