“Magic. An Inn like no other”
Reviewed 2 November 2012 via mobile

Words really do fail. This place is superb.

From the beautiful period building. The incredible restful atmosphere of a stunning home and beautiful furnishings. Complemented by good comfortable rooms, an excellent hot tub and superb roof terrace.

But even better than the above are the truly wonderful staff. They are all extremely knowledgeable, helpful and extremely nice. They all really enhance the stay. It feels more like being in a lovely home than a B and B.

The breakfast is also superb and this place seems to attract nice people, which also enhance the stay.

Location wise it is central enough and very easy to get to most places.

This all combines to be a truly wonderful and different experience and one thst I'd highly recommend.

Enjoy your time at the Inn if you are lucky enough to get the chance

The Inn San Francisco is so lovely and charming that I often dream of going back and staying in our sweet little room again. It's a wonderful place to start out your day with a really great, healthy buffet breakfast enjoyed in the courtyard. Returning at night is just as welcoming with port and sherry available in the main room, with candles lit and soft music playing; the effect is like travelling back to a simpler era. The house has real charm and character and so you feel you are getting an authentic San Franciscan experience. It is worth renting a parking space from the inn to come and go as you please. The Inn San Francisco is one-of-a-kind; we will return!

SF is not a cheap town, so don't be put off by the prices. You cannot find a better valued place in the city. If you pay less, you'll stay in a dump, here you'll enjoy every day.
The place is gorgeous and the location is great since you can walk a couple of blocks to Valencia St, with some of the best restaurants in town (indeed some of the best of the world), and the trendy Mission district. You can move from there on the MUNI or BART with no problem. Union Sq. is cheaper, but you'll see why after 7 pm. Here you can walk around after hours and feel safe.
Staff is wonderful and breakfasts are the best in town.

Room Tip: Small rooms are indeed small, if you can afford a larger room it is well worth it.

This is how you run a B&B. My partner and I stayed here for 3 nights on a friend's recommendation and it is undoubtedly the most beautiful and homely place we've ever stayed - an absolute delight! Not only is the house beautiful with stunning views of the city - it's the attention to detail which is second to none: classical music piped into the lounge, bowls of fruit, nuts, biscuits, sweets, tea, coffee, sherry and port on tap, and don't get me started on the gorgeous breakfasts! Everywhere you look there's something to stimulate the senses - whether it's the beautiful books of the city, the fresh flowers, or the eclectic charms that decorate the interior. The staff are also the perfect balance of friendly and helpful, always good when it's your first visit to a city. Last but not least, the location is perfect - after spending a day walking the many hills of SF the last thing you want to do is walk more miles to a good restaurant, so we were thrilled to have a choice of so many fantastic eateries just two blocks away, a mere 5 minute walk.

I would whole-heartedly recommend this place to everyone who is visiting the city, it's a real gem.

I'm losing my words to describe how nice of staying here.
I spent 3 nights here and had to check out 'cuz the rooms were fully booked already...:(
Amazing owner Marty, Guppy the dog, and lovely staffs are all sooooo friendly and kind.
Every room has different decoration but all so elegant.
Fruits, walnet, tea, coffee, hot water, candies provided in the lobby 24 hours. Breakfast was so good and healthy.
Don't miss the beautiful city view in the roof top, Marty is proud of it.
Rooms are clean and bright, beds, pillows, comforters are so comfortable.
If you're coming to SF for any reason, and want to have a perfect place to stay. You MUST NOT miss it. The inn will bring you the best memory of the city.

Room Tip: Rooms are alllllll nice, #24 with a cute jacuzzi tub in the room which fit 4 accommodates for a whol...

This is a great launchpad for your stay in San Francisco. It's easy to get in and out of the city and it's not far either, you can walk in about 30-40 minutes. You are surrounded by the excellent restaurants that are too numerous to name but Límon just up the road is amazeballs, Marty is a legend, he even risked a ticket trying to get us to one of the excellent eateries in the area.

This is the second time to the Inn San Francisco. I stayed alone 18 months ago and wanted to bring my husband here ever since. He loves it too now! Great place, a little haven. Lovely English garden out the back with a spa (we used this every night and were the only people out there). Common rooms are pleasant, with port to help yourself as well as tea and coffee. Breakfast is a huge spread of fresh fruit, quiches, cheese, meats, bread and cakes - with complimentary newspapers. It's nice to sit and chat to some of the other guests. The rooms feel olde-worlde, but are very roomy and comfortable. I've recommended to another friend who'll be there in a week or so, and I will definitely come back on future visits to SF.

Room Tip: Look at their website to get a good overview of each room. They're all good, but if you prefer q...
