If you like to live the real San Francisco, this is the place to stay.

Martin the owner is a Great host and, give you a tour that you'll enjoy.

The location is OK, I would've like it closer to the Warf. But if you have a car then is perfect. Wi fi needs improvement.

We spent two nights here and wished we had longer. Our room was spacious and elegantly furnished. From the moment we walked in we felt very spoilt. Breakfast is fantastic and we felt most comfortable sitting in the large lounge area reading and chatting. Guppy the dog helped us to get over missing our dogs so much. The Inn is a little way out of the city but transport services were frequent and it was worth it to stay in such surroundings. Plenty of restaurants in the surrounding streets.

Room Tip: Choose a room at the back.

Our flight arrived very late on the first night of our trip, which meant a late check in after 12:00 am. Even though it was an inconvenient time for a check in, the staff at The Inn San Francisco made us feel right at home.
The inn itself is lovely and we loved exploring every detail of the carefully selected decor. Our favorite place was the inn's garden, a wonderful place to sit and let time pass you by.
Each morning, we were excited to experience the inn's delicious breakfast, which was by candlelight in the dining room.
Our room, #45 was a perfect pick for us. The fireplace was a delight after long walks around the city. An unexpected treat was our room's roof top deck, we spent time there relaxing each morning. An added bonus to a fantastic stay, the extremely comfortable bed which pampered our sore bodies from all of the daily walking.
We felt as though we were saying goodbye to family upon our departure. Liza made sure we would arrive safely at our next destination by printing directions for us. Thank you to everyone at The Inn San Francisco for an exceptional stay, we'll definitely see you again.

Marty and Liza, and the entire staff, made us very welcome, the service is was great, the rooms very clean, in general the whole place was very clean and very pleasant. They even made my dog feel right at home.
And of course I have to comment on the breakfast. It was delightful, all you can eat with plenty to choose from. All and all if I have to go back to San Francisco, this is the place I will book again.

Room Tip: Call and speak to Marty or Liza, and let them know what you are looking for.

We travel a lot, and have had the fortune to stay at many fine hotels. We have stayed at some very expensive hotels in San Francisco. From now on, we will always stay here. The service, the accommodations, the location - wonderful! We were in room 37, a beautiful, spacious, quiet room with lots of little extras that you wouldn't find at a hotel for twice the money. It's a Victorian home that is straight out of a movie, with a wonderfully furnished downstairs for evening drinks and conversation, games, newspapers, a fabulous breakfast, and the sort of atmosphere that made us want to linger. The owner, Marty, is fantastic, who gave us great history and advice about what to see in the Mission District, a great place to stay in San Francisco,

Room Tip: Room 37 is spacious and faces the back (quiet).

I come to San Francisco often, but usually am booked in one of the big chain hotels in Union Square. This time I got to pick my own accommodation.

I loved this place. It's gorgeous, completely furnished with of-the-epoque antiques, has a fantastic roof deck and garden, nice toiletries and was impeccably clean. Breakfast was a wonderful spread with something for everyone.

The neighborhood is packed with good restaurants at every price point.

All in all a very nice stay.

We were struck by the stunning Victorian appearance of the building when we booked the room . . and were delighted to find it was as pictured, both inside and out. This is a three story classic Victorian built in 1872 during the "guilded age" of fine contruction in several sections of San Francisco. The great fire that followed the San Francisco earthquake in 1906 was stopped just a block or two north of this building preserving it . . thank God! The high ceilings and elegant Victorian furnishings are a delight to the eye . . and set this inn apart from many "Vicgtorian Inns" that I have visited. The staff and owner are welcoming and a pleasure to deal with . . and can provide pointers on the local restaurants as there are many within walking distance. Our room was up on the third floor . . many, many steps considering the high ceilings. Luckily a staff member was available to carry up most of our heavier luggage. Breakfast was extensive . . laid out in the rear parlor "buffet style" where you could eat in the front parlor with dining room table and the rear parlor with a fews chairs and tables. The only "complaint" was that the food was the same all 3 mornings . . the quiche with corn was not that inspiring and fell apart . . would have preferred a classic Quiche Lorraine or something with meat. Of the local restaurants . . we had dinner at "Limon Rotisserie" in the next block . . .featuring excellent Peruvian spiced chicken and side dishes at very reasonable prices. Another night we walked about two blocks to a German restaurant - Schmidt's - and had another wonderful meal featuring German sausages and side dishes. If you book a room at this inn, if you tire easily . . ask for a room on the second floor to avoid climbing all the steps it takes to get up to the third floor. One day we drove up to a parking garage near Market Street and near the end of the Powell & Hyde car line. This is a great way to see San Francisco . . use the cable car to get up to the waterfront and Ghirardelli Square . . and don't forget to stop in at the Buena Vista Cafe across from the cable car turn-around. We had a wonderful lunch - this is "home" for Irish Coffee perfected here a century ago! If you have a car and stay at this inn, street parking would like be available and save you about $20 per day.

Room Tip: Avoid the third floor unless you really, really like climbing steps!
