I just came back from a lovely 2 night stay at The Huntington Hotel. The hotel is charming and the staff was extremely helpful with any requests. The breakfast at the Big 4 was very fresh and every part of the hotel was extremely clean. The pool and gym area is slightly small but still very relaxing with huge windows to let the sun shine in. I almost missed the sauna but glad I found it. They also have an elevator that takes you straight to the spa so no need to run through the lobby in your robe. It's on top of a hill, so do your stretching!

A beautiful hotel in a excellent location. I booked the room through Hotwire, so the hotel was a surprise for me. It comes under the preferred hotels group, which includes some of the most luxurious properties around the globe.

The hotel had a convenient location and easy walkability to the Union square area. Where is it was just around the corner of the tenderloin district of Sfo, which scared me at the first look. Stay away from that area.

The staff and the concierge of the hotel is amazing, you can not imagine the level of service they provide. The doorman and bellman were very helpful in guiding directions. The concierge can get to discount coupons and suggest you excellent restaurants to dine in. (Oriental Pearl - Chinese)

The breakfast at the Big4 restaurant was excellent. The egg-huntington was the best egg-dish i have ever had. The rooms were of classic styling, and very welcoming and comfortable. Its was just like home. I was not able to use the spa but the facility looked amazing. All the toiletries in the hotel are of L'occitane.

Overall i would recommend staying at this classic heritage hotel, for their extreme level of service offered towards the guest, and the pampering that is offered at that price.

Was fortunate enough to score a room at last minute. Reading the reviews , they all pretty promising and they did not disappoint. My first criteria for a good hotel in the Nob Hill area is a reasonable valet/parking rate. At $39 per night and with in/out privileges, The Huntington parking is a deal . (A garage next to the hotel charged you $50 all day and without in-out privileges. From the very beginning, Jason , the doorman was very helpful and courteous. The bellman , Joe was quick and helpful. The room is very nicely appointed, a very comfortable bed and large shower/tub. The turn down service was a nice surprise and impeccable. Don't forget to try the "Big 4" bar! It has the feel of a private club and love the details of the architecture. "Top of the Mark" next door maybe famous for their 100 martinis list, but The Big 4" felt very intimate, especially with the live piano music and the fireplace. Very strategic place, right in front of cable car line, has one of the best spa in town, and right across Grace Cathedral. Overall my experience was very pleasant. The only small thing that maybe insignificant but nice to know, the daily newspaper was not complimentary. I'm not sure if this is only applies to national newspaper like the NY Times, but it would be nice if they mentioned it upfront, because I usually get the paper complimentary when I stayed at the Fairmont. So kind of surprised me a little when I saw the surcharge. Anyway, the stay was impeccable and definitely will return.

Went to SFO for conference and decided to give Huntington a try based on other reviews. Very cool 1900s era hotel that was a converted apartment building. It has all the character of its roots while maintaining a modern infrastructure and great service. I had a bit of a bumpy time checking in and received a ADA room which had a tricky bath/shower combo. The hotel promptly moved me to another room with a great view of the bay and a huge stand up shower. The hotel's windows were all brand new and they opened to let in the perfect 60 degree air. The service at the hotel was the real surprise. While not the name recognition of the Fairmont, Ritz, or other 5 star hotels, the Huntington staff certainly did not let that stop them. I never opened the front door thanks to an always present doorman who was constantly available for questions, directions, etc. The hotel provided turn down service nightly and one night, there was even a 25% off over to the spa which I thought was a nice touch. The location of the hotel is at the top of Nob Hill, beautiful location yet still convenient to all the other places you want to visit in town. I highly recommend!

This is a very nice hotel in a great location. On top of thw hill, could see a long ways from the window. Walked most places, but you may want to use the cable cars to get up and down the hills, they are very steep.

This was simply a great overall experience. We called to reconfirm our reservation and kindly requested a renovated room, as per some previous visitors' suggestions. The room was lovely: comfortable bed, roomy and upgraded shower, dual sinks. All this and the space still managed to retain its original character. The balance was nice and created a cozy feel. If you have time, remember to check out the hotel bar around 5pm for live piano music and a cocktail.

First time staying in downtown San Francisco and stumbled upon a very good deal of the Huntington Hotel, I am extremely glad that I have made the decision to stay there.

The hotel is located in the very upscale neighborhood of Nob Hill, which felt very safe even in late evenings. (Can't say the same about some of other surrounding districts though) With cable car access right at its door and various buses running on nearby streets. Bart station is about 10-15 min walk away, but as Bart station is at bottom of the hill, the walk uphill is quite a challenge.

Both the exterior and interior of the hotel have a very classic vintage feel, all staff are very friendly and professional, The lobby is small but feels very classy, the check-in and check-out process are quick and trouble free. Housekeeping staff does an outstanding job, folding all clothing left in the room, turndown service daily.

I was not sure if I got the renovated room or the so called old room, but the room was very much of a 5 star quality in my opinion: spacious, clean, and the decoration and furnishings reflects the heritage of the hotel. All the toiletries are from L'occitane, which should tell you immediately that you are at the right place! The provided robe was very comfortable, and there is a lockable fridge for guest to use. Although it is advertised that wifi is charged at 10 dollars a day but there was a wifi service named "AT&T" and I have checked with front desk and was advised that it is free to use, I have accessed it during my stay and was not charged at all.

I haven't checked out the spa and big 4 restaurant but the restaurant/bar appeared to be having a very classic atmosphere with piano playing in the evenings. There are many dining options available near the hotel in adjacent blocks or in nearby Chinatown, union square shopping district is a short stroll away.

There is no negative aspects that affected my experience, I can only think of 2 things that could even improve the experience further:

1. The corridor appears to be a bit "too vintagey", maybe better lighting could help?
2. No accessible power outlet by the bedside for charging phones/tablets.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the hotel and would recommend it to anyone visiting San Francisco, and I really look forward to stay there again
