Grace Cathedral is a beautiful church but what's particularly exciting for me is that there is an indoor labyrinth that is set in stone and there's an outdoor labyrinth also set in tile. so even if there's a wedding going in the church you can walk the one outside. Grace Cathedral was very involved in the resurgence of labyrinths as Meditation walks. both of their's are based on the design from Chartres Cathedral in France

“Must see”
Reviewed 19 May 2014 via mobile

I am so glad we put this as a must see on our list. The outside structure is magnificent and reminds me of Notre Dame in Paris. The church was amazingly open to the public. I took several pictures of the interior sanctuary, altar, and stained glass window? they turned out well but couldn't capture the ambience. It was curious to see the ribbons hanging down. I think we were the only ones there..we saw it on a Saturday

“A place of peace and reflection”
Reviewed 14 May 2014

A stately cathedral reminiscent of the architecture of Notre Dame. It's at the top of Nob Hill, and there is both an inside and outside labyrinth to walk. (It takes longer to walk than you would expect.)
When we were there, there were hundreds of long colored ribbons hanging from the high ceiling. It gave a festive or regal feeling.
If you can catch an organ recital, or a service there, you will be treated to a fantastic pipe organ with reverberating sounds through the large spaces.
