Owner description: At the northwestern corner of San Francisco, there is a series of stunning views at every turn in this wild and windy trail. Hillsides of cypress and wildflowers, views of shipwrecks and access to the ruins of Sutro baths, a San Francisco specials memory.

“Friendly hikers along the way.”
Reviewed 29 August 2014

My wife and I hiked Lands End and it was great. The other hikers were friendly and offered suggestions to those of us that look like hiking tourists. There is a public bathroom behind the Legion of Honor that I would suggest utilizing before your hike (if you start there). Throughout our hike we found view after amazing view of the ocean, Golden Gate Bridge, and the surrounding wildlife. A great, free place to visit in San Francisco!

“Best hiking trail in the city”
Reviewed 26 August 2014

I have been to this trail over 100 times and take all my out of town guests here for an activity. It is the only trail were you feel like you are actually hiking in all of san francisco. And the best part is the view of the golden gate bridge and beautiful cliffs were you can hear the crashing waves of the ocean. Don't miss this wonderful trail if you are in san francisco.

“great GG bridge and bay views”
Reviewed 25 August 2014

a nice stroll on any day, gets a bit crowded after 10 on weekends so come early. many folks stop walking at the 2nd overlook where the trail turns to dirt though. I love taking my dog for a run here on any weekday, it is never too crowded, but avoid sunny weekend afternoons if you don't like marching along with a crowd.

“Spectacular Views and a Good Path to Hike”
Reviewed 25 August 2014

Historically interesting - home of the Sutro baths at the turn of the century - and dramatic views of the Pacific Ocean make this a really fun place to visit. The well groomed trails are of easy/moderate difficulty and in an hour you can see the whole area which includes a view of the Golden Gate Bridge. There is also a really nice gift shop!

“Great views, right by Golden Gate Park”
Reviewed 25 August 2014

We visited Land's End after finishing up at Golden Gate Park; if you park at Ocean Beach (free) you are located optimally between both locations.

The views were really beautiful, especially once you turn the corner and see the Golden Gate Bridge. Very easy trails and handicap accessible if you don't go down to the Sutro Baths; we skipped them because they didn't look very interesting for the amount of effort needed to get down to them. You can see the ruins pretty well from above anyway. Land's End was very crowded while we were there on a Saturday afternoon, but if you have a little patience and admire the scenery while you wait your turn, you'll get your perfect photo too.
