This place has a very trendy, modern feel, it's an underground wine bar. Right out the back door of the Marriott Hotel and sitting somewhat underneath the Four Seasons. Have been a couple of times, the last time we had them set up a selection of local cheeses and wines for our group of about 25 in the back area prior to our going out to dinner. Wines and cheeses were amazing. You can just come in for a drink or find a sofa and linger.

This place is NOT a tasting room anymore, despite the owner's description. It is simply a wine bar that serves a lot of local wine. They do not have tasting stations for individual wineries anymore.

We arrived at 3 in the afternoon on a Saturday. It was the Chinese New Year parade day and the start of SF beer week. The place was about 1/4-1/3 full when we arrived.

The decor is loungey and swanky. Tons of seating and standing room.
Wine was good. Though the selection wasn't as vast as you'd hope for a downtown SF wine bar, an hour from Napa/Sonoma wine country.
Cheese was decent.
Servers were very friendly (but absent).

- Took 15-20 minutes after sitting down to have our order taken.
- Took another 30 or so to get wine and cheese in front of us. We didn't order any cooked food. Just two wine flights, a beer flight (for SF beer week- that came right away), and an 8-cheese cheese board.
- We were not given napkins, water, or knives (to share the cheese board with 3 people) until we asked.
- We had to ask THREE TIMES for water.
- Pricey, but I suppose this is expected for Union Square and a place thats in the Four Seasons.
- TINY wine flight pours. I paid $19 for maybe 2 oz each of 3 wines. Rip. Off.

We had a $77 tab for two wine flights, a beer flight ($15), and a cheese board ($29). The terrible service really killed this experience for me. One of the servers said that a few people called in sick that day and it was overly busy due to beer week. I can understand spotty service later in the afternoon (it was pretty empty when we showed up) but not in the beginning of our trip there. No excuse to let people with for almost an hour without anything in front of them when the place is less than half full.

We will never go back. We can get a broader selection for better prices in our East Bay town without the $10 pp BART ride into the city.

Great place to hang out in SOMA; big modern space, hidden underground, good range of wines...but wish they had a range of sparkling wines as well...the list was more limited than i anticipated. A little pricey, but expected of SOMA.

We recently went to the Press Club and had a pretty good time. The decor is very nice and we really enjoyed sitting on the couch drinking wine and noshing on some yummy appetizers. The downside is the wine selection. I know that it is a collection of five different wineries however, none of them seem to have really outstanding wine. I had the white wine flight while my partner tried the blends. After my flight, I ordered several more glasses of wine. I was especially disappointed by Chateau Montelena, especially considering all the hype surrounding their wine. Otherwise we had a really good time and service was outstanding.

Great option if you can't make the trip to wine country, but want to get the "Napa Valley experience". Eight quality Napa/Sonoma wineries all have individual tasting tables in this swanky location, staffed by their own employees. It's a beautiful upscale space, and a very fun experience to try different wines and learn something along the way. You can also buy bottles of your favorites and take (or ship) them home.

Food options are limited, but they have tasty appetizer type pairings that go well with the wine. If you're looking for a place to grab a drink before dinner, it's a more fun alternative than the hotel bars. Great central location in Union Square / SOMA under the Four Seasons.
