This was our anniversary and we wanted to stay in San Francisco for a few days. After researching the internet, I found the Hotel Del Sol. This is truly a great bargain and would be equally great for families. Although it is an older establishment , the renovations and landscaping have given it quite a bit of character. With the free parking, internet service, clean rooms and microwave/refrig, you just can't go wrong. I must comment on the service......wonderful is the only thing that comes to mind. Ours questions were not only answered with enthusiasm but the suggestions on eateries, tours etc were very helpful. We will return with grandkids next time.

This was a wonderful surprise. Clean, cute and well located. Staff was friendly and helpful. The room was small to average sized but soooooo clean. As others have said it was bright and cheery. rooms are well equipped with hair dryers, irons and safes. The bed was comfortable and the furniture was functional. the walls tend to be a bit thin. I could hear the TV next door but it was not a big problem. this is not the Ritz but for $109 and FREE yes I said FREE parking this is a great deal. They even have an outdoor pool. It was too cold in January to use the pool but if you go when it is warmer it would be nice. The FREE breakfast is also a nice extra. It was just a light meal but it was good. I had a bagel and cream cheese with hot chocolate. there were several other things to select from. Go you will not be disappointed.

We stayed at the Hotel Del Sol with our three kids, aged 15, 12 and 9. We were there for 3 nights, in a "Junior Suite". It was cramped for the five of us (with a rollaway), but hey, it's San Francisco - we only really went back to the hotel to sleep!

The renovation and refurbishment of this classic 60s-style motel has been done really nicelt, with lost of sweet little touches - the mosaics on the doors, the handpainted globes outside the room.

It can be a bit noisy with people walking down the corridor, so bear that in mind if you're a light sleeper. Breakfast is a bit tricky, with not really enough space for more than two or three people to be getting their food at one time.

Overall, a lovely, cheerful place to stay in San Francisco, especially with kids in tow.

Agreeing with most of the other reviews for this hotel, we spent 5 nights here and really enjoyed our stay. It has a really good location, close enough for walks to the Bridge, Crissy Fields and the Wharf area.
It had a small pool which I didnt use, but it provided a really nice location to sit around for break fast and a drink in the evening.
The staff were really helpful which is always a big plus.

We stayed in this hotel for three nights in October. Due to a big delay on our flights, we arrived very late in the evening. The staff was very friendly, and even though the parking lot was full, they still let us park onside.
Overall the hotel is very well located, the staff is really friendly and it is a perfect place to start your journey through San Francisco.
The breakfast is real nice, due to the bad weather we couldn't eat outside, so we ate it in our room, which was really spacious, so not a problem at all.

This hotel is really funky and colorful- they provide free breakfast and coffee in the morning, free internet and is one of the ONLY places that provides free parking in the city. It is also within walking distance to many restaurants and shopping districts. There's also a cute little pool to swim in if it's hot enough when you go and even little hammocks to relax in. My only complaint: rooms were pretty small and mattress was a little uncomfortable. Regardless, I would stay here again and have already recommended it to others. TIP: You must go eat at La Boulange Bakery if you stay here- its just a few blocks away and is SO yummy!
