When we stayed at this hotel several years ago, it was down at the heels. Now the rooms have been redecorated, and we were pleased with the view from room 208 (it included everything from Coit tower to the Transamerica building). The man at the desk was helpful. Good mattress.
Free parking is a plus. We parked our car at about 1:00 and went sightseeing until our room was ready at 3:00 p.m.

Room Tip: Room 208 is large and quiet with two queen beds and good city view.

There were 4 of us in the room. We had a two room suite, with 1 king, and two queen beds. I couldn't believe how large the room was! Beds were comfortable. Indoor parking.

Very good value for San Francisco. Close to all public transportation, including trolleys, and walk to Fisherman's Wharf.

I would definitely stay here again!

We stayed for one night. It met our needs. We were out and about exploring the city all day, so really only slept in the room. The room was nothing special, old and not immaculately clean. Felt safe. If you are in need of a cost effective, average place to sleep in a good location (fisherman's wharf, cable car lines, Lombard street, etc) then this fits the bill. If you are looking for a nice hotel to relax and spend time in - this is not the place.

My daughter and I recently stayed here on a one night stopover between Brisbane and New York. We were very happy with the accommodation - very clean and comfortable room, great beds and the friendly staff at check-in could not have been more helpful. The location was good (very close to Fisherman's Wharf) and we would not hesitate to stay here again!

If all you care about is free parking and a location near Fisherman's Wharf then this hotel is for you. If you care about staying in a decent hotel then stay away. We were planning to stay for three nights but checked out after the first night. The first room they gave us was on the third (top) floor. Temp was in the 80's. When we got off the elevator the heat hit us in the face. When we went into our room the A/C was not on, the room was unbearably hot and had a terrible odor. We switched to a first floor room that did not smell, but the A/C was not on in this room either. The entire hotel is very run down and in need of updating. The beds were not comfortable. This is a below budget hotel. The one thing I can say is that they didn't give us a problem when we wanted to cancel the last two night of our stay. Maybe they are used to people leaving early. I don't understand how this hotel gets such a high rating. I prefer to support independent hotels and not chains when possible, but I can't do it here. If you choose to stay at this hotel don't say you weren't warned.

Room Tip: If you must stay here then ask for a room in the back on the first floor as there is a noisy bar across the street. Avoid the top floor in the summer as it is very hot.
