everything was good except (as usual with Marriott hotels) you have to pay about $15 per day for internet. which is unfair. the room costs enough, there is no need to squeeze as much as you can out of the customers.

Location was great.
I liked the American DIner Cafe next door..

Very nice hotel with standard Marriott quality touches througout. Prime location in the middle of San Francisco's touristy shopping district. Small intimate lobby lacking thAT impersonal feel of large convention style hotels. The rooms are on the small side especially when comparing square footage to more limited service hotels like Courtyards, Very small bathrooms as already noted by other reviewers, but the quality furnishings and amenties make up for these small nuiansces. Very nice and capable staff. All in all, a great stay.

Just got back from a 4 night stay at this amazing hotel. We had great service throughout our trip, especially from two of the lovely concierge staff members who made some great restaurant recommendations. The hotel is very central - easy walking distance to all of the Union Square shops and not too far of a walk to the ferry building. I have stayed at other Union Square area hotels where the noise was an issue but the Marriot seems to be far enough away from the bustle of Union Squarethat it was never an issue. Would stay here again without a doubt!

Great location and fantastic staff. Parking in this town is outrageous to the toon of $45.00 per night. Lot's of great places to eat near by!

Room Tip: Higher floor and the northwest side have great views of Coit Tower and Alcatraz

We booked for two nights but really only stayed for one and a half days - we had a late flight out of San Fran and wanted to have use of the room during the day. Due to a delay in our flight from Las Vegas we did not arrive until after midnight. We were checked in promptly however the vent/fan in the room was incredibly noisy. We tried putting up with it for half an hour or so but it was obvious that we were not going to get any sleep. I called down to the front desk to complain and to the credit of the staff that night (May 24th) they organised to move us straight away. One of the staff also came up to inspect the vent/fan. We moved to another room on another floor which was very quiet (by this time it was 2 am) and we had a great night's sleep. Room service for breakast at 10:45 am that morning was also very prompt. The doorman booked a taxi for us for that night to the airport (the taxi turned out to be a limo which was fantastic and very reasonably priced at $50 to the airport at peak hour on a Friday night before the Memorial Day weekend). Although our stay at the Marriott was short we enjoyed our time there (after being moved to a quiet room) and would recommend it to our friends and would stay again. One small criticism is that in our 4 weeks in the USA this was the only hotel which did not have free wi-fi.

Room Tip: Turn off the air-conditioning when you are checked into your room and listen for any noise from the...

The hotel is well located near Union Square. We were able to walk to shops and local restuarants. Our room was large, quiet and modern with coffee maker and safe in the room. The staff were helpful and friendly. We were on the 10th floor and had no view except building next door and roof below. We parked our car at the garage down the block for $39 for 24 hours as the hotel charges $55 to park your car.

I have stayed a couple of times in this hotel in the past 2 years and it never disappoints. The hotel feels new, fresh and very well maintained. I really like the beautiful spacious lobby that is very welcoming and cheerful.

The room is nicely decorated and spacious. The guest service laundry facility (on seventh floor) is awesome and very useful as the hotel laundry service in general is very expensive.

And, of course, you can't beat this hotel's location! It is very near (one block) from union square and thus is also close to the bart/muni station and many shops/restaurants. At the same time, it still has the necessary distance from the union square as to not make it too overwhelming (as comparison, there are some hotels right across the union square that woud always have crowded walking-by people in the hotel's front pavement)

Can't recommend it more!

Room Tip: Ask the one facing the city
