This hotel has a great location in Union Square. Just right opposite the hotel is a Starbucks is. That's where the cable car stop is to go to Fisherman's Wharf. Shopping is all within walking distance. Rooms were very clean and service was good. There was no free Wifi and lack certain amneties.

This hotel is nicely located because union square which is so busy is 2 blocks away. So is the shopping. At the corner of the hotel runs the cable car which can take you to the Seaport Wharf or to Market street for more shopping. Powell st where the cable car runs up and down can be walked up hill. Once over the top its all down hill to the Wharf. China is a few blocks behind the hotel too. You can walk to ATTT stadium in 15 minutes.
Now the hotel itself did not disappoint. The room was clean and well kept by house keeping. Wi-Fi is free in the lobby only otherwise it will cost you in the room. This is what i didn't like. We were always greeted with a smile leaving or coming back. Walgreens drugstore is across the street and so is Lori's dinner. So much there and you won't regret the stay in this hotel.

Thanks to the people on Trip Advisor we asked for a corner room. We were in Room 2006, a corner room on the 20th floor. This room had a view of the bay! There were three of us staying in the room and it was rather large and very comfortable. The room was nicely decorated and clean, and the beds were very comfortable. The location of this hotel is wonderful, close to everything! All the staff that we encountered were very pleasant. I would stay here again without hesitation.

Room Tip: Room 2006 is a corner room on the 20th floor. We heard very little street noise and never heard anyo...

Just finished up a fun weekend trip to San Francisco. The Marriott Union Square is within walking distance to everything, which made it a perfect place to satay. The check-in was easy, everyone was friendly, and the rooms were clean. We are loyal to Marriott's, and this hotel had some of the most comfortable beds we've slept in.

My husband and I just spent 5 nights at this property while vacationing in the San Francisco area. The location is very central, easy to access public transportation and also walkable to many significant sightseeing areas. The room was small. We had to request a refrigerator. The bathroom is ridiculously tiny. The two of us could not leave our toiletries out at the same time. There is one small ledge that requires a balancing act to store anything on. We also found that the bed and pillows were not very comfortable. The major upside to this hotel is the super nice and helpful staff. Jeff and Min Yi at front desk, managers Susan and Kate and the concierge. Thank you to those individuals for their kindness and professionalism but if we find ourselves in the SF area again we will probably stay somewhere else.

Recently stayed at this hotel with my family in April. I used my Marriott’s points and was given a lousy room overlooking the roof top of a building. I would expect that when you are using reward points the hotel would try to give you the best room available since you earned those points staying at their branded hotels. In addition, I had requested several other items but received none. Not sure the reasoning behind the move, but since I am a non-paying guest they must not care which is unfortunate. Next time I will stay at another hotel. The hotel’s location is excellent and overall the hotel was good.

Thank you for staying with us and for providing feedback. I apologize for the room location. We have a significant number of guests who redeem points for their stay. Unfortunately, we are not always able to give everyone their desired room location. However, I am pleased you found the hotel location favorable.
Thank you for your loyalty to Marriott.

Sincerely,
